We loved it!!! Not super fancy but great service and perfect location - totally great value. I would totally stay here again and recommend it!!!! Very short drive to the tapestry and to the American cemetery and invasion beaches. Quaint and clean - great bathrooms and everyone there was super helpful in making dinner reservations and making sure we had... More

We stayed in the hotel between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Pros: The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The Christmas lights were magical, the ground is very pleasant with all the swans and ducks... The location is good as it is about 20 min walk to the centre of Bayeux: enough for a bit of exercise although it... More

My Dad surprised me with this one; he knew I would love it, and love it we both did. We had traveled to Bayeux for 3 nights to venture by car around the area, see the sites, pay our respects. Not difficult to find, but once we did it was kind of like stepping into another world (Maybe that's just... More

We stayed in December, which is summer in Australia, so the Black Swans have their cygnets for Christmas and are highly protective parents - beware! All the white swans, geese, ducks etc are safe tho'. The gardens were beautifully decorated for Christmas, which really created a great ambiance before entering the house. We visited as part of a Brittany Ferries... More

Stayed for 3 nights with my hubby. We had read other reviews on Trip Advisor, so wasn't sure what to expect! We received a warm and friendly welcome, we were given a room overlooking the back of the house with a view of the fantastic gardens and river. The room was clean and pretty a little tired BUT it is... More

Like the curate's egg - good in parts. My room was at the back in the old part - a huge room, lovely and quiet, great bed, lots of pillows, full of light and it was wonderful to wake up to birdsong. Huge bathroom and huge corner spa bath... but no overhead shower, sigh. Oh well. Service was distinctly... odd.... More

The Chateau De Bellefontaine is a lovely setting but the grounds are looking a bit shabby. Staff barely greeted us, did not check us in or ask for passports (very unusual for a French hotel) and did not offer to help with our bags, up 2 flights of stairs (and we are elderly). The lounge was set up with paintings... More

But would not recommend the evening meal as value for money. Well placed for Bayeaux it's self, we walked in, good for the Normandy beaches and the Pegasus Bridge. More than ample parking, lovely grounds, close to the Caen Ferry. The wallpaper was a bit dark for my taste but so what. Yes I would use it again as part... More

We used this hotel as a base for exploring Bayeux and the Normandy area, particularly the World War Two beaches - it was well-located in that regard and all the beaches are within a comfortable drive. The hotel itself is in a stunning setting, particularly at night when the grounds are illuminated. Staying in the original wing, the rooms were... More
