Average seems to be the word for eveything. The welcome was neither friendly nor unfriendly. They lost our booking but found another. They room they gave us was very small so i asked for a larger one. They obliged but it had its down sides. The wifi was very poor, the showering arrangements barely adequate and the room a bit... Two main points 1.Although it shows there is BBC & CNN in actual fact there is not any english speaking TV channels available - 2. NO free wifi - and it costs 7 EURO PER HOUR if you want to connect. Bayeux has not a lot to do - the shops open late (around 10am) and at night not much... More

I booked the Hotel de Brunville on Booking.com, and decided that the location was superb right in the center of Bayeux. I was going to Normandy in advance of the D-Day Invasion 70th Anniversary with a friend. I was certainly not wrong. The property is older, but I found it to be clean, recently updated and comfortable. The staff was... More

Stayed four nights. Excellent location, within walking distance of everything of interest in Bayeux. Main restaurant streets are just 5 minutes away. Slightly faded grandeur in the hotel itself, but quite adequate and comfortable in the "superior" rooms, which seem to face the inside courtyard, so are quiet. The courtyard accommodates the hotel secure parking (for which a fee is... More

Our tour group stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We had better hotels on this tour,. The location is excellent within walking distance to the Bayeaux Cathedral, getting to the tapestry, cafes/restaurants, ATM machine nearby. On a Sunday evening when a lot of places were closed I went to Subway to get a sandwich then headed back to the... More

I booked a tour group into this hotel primarily based on its location in the heart of Bayeux, allowing for a short walking distance to eating and sightseeing. The location was ideal but the hotel has its warts. It's a more authentic, typical French hotel and some guests found it suitable, while others had troubles such as a non-functioning tv,... More

I can't believe this hotel has 3 stars. Someone needs to take another visit. We were booked in the Brunville but switched to the Luxembourg. Our room was stark. We had to crawl into the bed as we had a slanted roof. The bedspread was stained. Our bed light was off and on. We were freezing in the room. They... More

Bayeux, France is a beautiful little town in Normandy and Hotel de Brunville is a lovely place right in the heart of it. It is very central to everything and has a beautiful restaurant right in the building. The staff was very helpful in booking tours for us. Excellent value as well.

We were booked here by our travel agent. This was not my best hotel in France. The staff are pleasant but detached. You need to ask specifically about amenities like Wi-Fi. Don't expect great service as it only works sporadically in one of the buildings. The room was clean and that is my top priority. The bed was way to... More

We had booked two nights at the de Brunville but on arrival found we had been put into the "superior" Luxembourg, both of which share facilities, such as they are. I hate to think how grim the former is given the appalling quality we experienced in the Luxembourg. There is a total lack of signage, which makes it very difficult... More
