Stayed here for two nights while visiting Normandy. Hotel staff is very lovely and helpful. Parking is free. Room was very nicely decorated. Hotel does not have restaurant for evening meal and no room service on Monday night. Highly recommend as place to stay in historic Bayeux and as a place to visit WW II sites.

I don't give five stars very often, but in the case of the Villa Lara in Bayeux it is most deserved. From exceptional service (really exceptional) to the rooms, breakfast, drinks at the end of an interesting day touring Normandy, help with restaurant reservations each evening, and a great location, this is a special place. Owners Rema and Francoise and... More

We stayed at the Villa Lara for 2 nights in October 2013. Despite the pouring rain, we had a wonderful stay. It's nice to come back from a day of sightseeing in the rain and find a fire burning in the cozy bar/lobby. Our room was spacious and had most comfortable chairs with nice tall windows overlooking a green area.... More

We stayed in this very well situated hotel as part of a tour. It was a joy to stay there, super clean, lovely decor, beautiful views from most rooms, good room service and breakfast. Could not fault it JulieJohn

2 days in Bayeaux at the Villa Lara, a perfect place to stay. Very clean, well maintained and appointed room, great bed & shower, all tastefully decorated. Had a beautiful view and balcony overlooking the cathedral (rm 305) & the Tapestry museum is a stones throw away. The staff were very friendly and the champagne served anytime we wanted, was... As others have said, the location of this hotel, in old town Bayeux, a stone's throw from the magnificent Notre Dame and the Bayeux Tapestry, couldn't be better. The car park is convenient as well, in a gated area with easy access to the reception. However I wasn't as enamored as some with the hotel itself. The staff is pleasant... More

We hade a wonderful and very large room, beautifully furnished and very comfortable with a king size bed, a separate bath and shower, a clothes line, free secure wifi, a decent size fridge with a complimentary basic mini bar plus a view of the floodlit cathedral 300 metres away. There is no restaurant just a breakfast room and what breakfast!... More

My wife and I just spent the past two days at Villa Lara in Bayeux. We were not disappointed in any way. They were sold out for these days for all regular rooms and only had a suite available - it was more than we needed, but exceedingly comfortable, roomy, well appointed, and the service was superb and always with... We were delighted by our spacious room and the service at the Villa Lara Hotel. The staff is very professional, friendly and helpful - they gave us a warm welcome. The hotel was built as hotel, not converted from something else, so it is beautifully appointed & modern. The bathroom is large with a walk in shower. You can order... More

This is a very good, well-run hotel that was centrally located in Bayeux. Rooms were very large, and felt American-scaled. My only complaint was that it faces a small public square, and shockingly, there was a municipal worker using an annoying, noisy and smelly leaf blower. As a result, I never used the small terrace in my room. I leave... More
