I stayed here with a party of 7 "Jolly Boys" while touring the area looking at the various memorials mad museums around the D Day beaches etc, The rooms were clean and large enough, the hotel itself is a lovely old building with an annexe which we stayed in. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was the normal Buffett... More

Bayeux is not a large town, however this hotel is situated in the centre, so access to shops, restaurants and museums is easy. No further than 10 minutes walk to the cathedral and tapestry museum. The hotel is charming, tapestry's and paintings adorn the walls, making you think that you are in a museum. We had a room on the... More

We absolutely loved our stay here! The small hotel is incredibly charming with beautiful landscaping, dining rooms, and updated bathrooms. The location is perfect - as you can walk to everything you need in Bayeaux (besides the train station which would be a little far with luggage). The staff were wonderful! Very kind and so helpful! They booked everything we... More

I have stayed so many times at this very peasant hotel set most conveniently in the middle of Bayeux and I always try and book in here before I telephone any other hotel. The Patron, Madame Ropartz, is charming and her staff are all so nice and helpful. Her two sons are now beginning to take over the day to... More

We were very happy with the location of the hotel and the three young people who managed the hotel were absolutely delightful and most helpful. The room was comfortable and the bathroom had been nicely updated. Breakfasts were also full, reasonably priced and very fresh. I would stay there again without hesitation.

What a great alternative to Ouistream this is as a place to stay before catching the ferry. Ferry is only 40 minutes about an hour away and if you use the back roads it a pleasant route. Bayeaux is also great for exploring and has nice places to eat - even on a sunday. Back to the hotel. As usual... More

We tried to book other hotels before finally finding a room here. It is centrally located, pretty chateaux. We stayed in the annexe running up to the main building. Room was a good size, shower room a disappointment. We had just come from a b&b that met our expectations so a hotel at huge increase in price would surely reflect... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your comments and thank you very much for your kind words about our staff. On our recent trip to France & Italy we were looking to stay in hotels that had local charm and offered an authentic local experience, rather than staying in chain hotels that reminded us of home. The Hotel d'Argouges fairly oozes French charm and we really enjoyed our short stay. Highlights included: A beautiful room and a beautifully appointed modern... More

Beautiful European hotel in at least three buildings. We stayed in the building facing the garden. There are drinks and sandwiches available for order in the garden of the main building. Breakfast is grand in a lovely room. Lots of history in this Hotel. Great location in the heart of Bayeux. We were on the top floor with no elevator... More

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel with our family. Good base to explore the D-day beach(s) and other Normandy sights. Our room had a modern bathroom. The rooms are a good size, but could use an upgrade, especially the desk ( I guess you could call it that) and chairs if you want to use them with a PC... More
