I picked this hotel on line due to the lovely town of Bayeux and its proximity to the D-day beaches and we were not disappointed. We stayed in room 14 which was large by European standards. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and served early. My only complaint was that there was not much water pressure in the... More

Stayed at the end of September and really loved this hotel. Excellent staff and felt very much at home and really enjoyed our four night stay. Food was great and the service was excellent. Very good location and very charming.

This is a lovely welcoming hotel. It is not the best in the world, but it makes you feel relaxed and gives a good night's sleep. We didn't eat her but at Rapiere (a review will be done) but the menu sounded great. To be fair, we would have eaten here, but the restaurant just looked a little austere and... More

It's difficult to resist the courtyard and lounge of Lion d'Or, the vines snaking up the walls and a fireplace crackling in the lounge, along with photos of lots of celebrities. It's wonderfully cozy and inviting. Much confusion when we arrived about our rooms, including a young woman who didn't seem to understand much English. Perhaps it was stress; a... More

Quite traditional quaint rooms. The central heating was not operating, but staff provided an electic heater. The room was not of the standard expected for the price. Car parking at the front of the hotel must be pre-booked and is quite cramped. The lacation on the main street is convenient, but approach, by road, is one way only and so... More

Convenient location among shops & restaurants. Helpful front desk staff especially with parking & luggage. There are no lifts & parking is very tight. Our room had only one mirror in bathroom which made it difficult getting ready in am. Good breakfast especially loved the freshly squeezed orange juice maker. Dinner was pricey but excellent. Very charming hotel in French... More

We stayed here at the end of our biking trip. Nice hotel and the service was excellent. Close to the pedestrian shopping area and great restaurants! The room was nice -- odd shape. Very clean and enough room! Breakfast was good as well!

My family of 3 stayed here in August 2014. We booked this via our Chase Card points and so I was not sure what to expect. Needless to say, the hotel was outstanding. The room was large; quite large, and had soft robes, excellent in-room amenities, high-speed wifi for all of our gadgets, a great bar, and a very, very... More

We got lucky finding this place. Nice sized rooms and great bathrooms at this downtown hotel in Bayeux. It is very conveniently located near shopping, street markets and the Tapestry museum. They also have an excellent restaurant with outdoor seating. If you are driving let them know so they can reserve a parking space for you. We would definitely stay... More

I had an very nice stay at this hotel in July, with a party looking at the D-Day beaches. In short: very pleasant staff, comfortable room, the wifi worked, breakfast was good, and it is a great location. I did a little fifteen minute circuit through Bayeux each morning, stopping for a coffee. Nice to get out before the 'crowds'.... More
