We visited the Hotel des Tours as a party of 40 adults, over the weekend of 19-21 Sept '14, in order to attend the Last Post Ceremony in Ypres, Belgium. Research had shown that it was cheaper to stay in France and travel to and from Belgium, than to stay in Belgium itself. As the organiser in charge of accommodation,... More

This hotel may be just a step up from a travel lodge but what makes it good is its genuinely helpful and friendly staff and its central location near a lively part of old Lille where nearby rue des Gands houses many excellent restaurants. The breakfast was basic but adequate though the price looked high for what was on offer... More

This hotel was nicely placed and close to the rail, but the hotel was currently being refurbished we had one of the rooms that had not been done, it was shabby and the toilet did not flush after flushing it several times it still did not remove everything. For the cost of the room per night it was ok, but... More

The hotel is a little dated but is currently being refurbished, though this did not affect us at all. The rooms were comfortable. The air condtioning in our first room did not work but we were moved to another and upgraded. There are only 10 rooms with air conditioning so be sure to book one of these as otherwise it... More

We travelled to Lille so we could make a family pilgrimage, of sorts, to a couple of sites where family had been involved in WWII. Although the hotel staff were friendly enough, they weren't as helpful as I'd have expected and I struggled to manage the stairs - unavoidable, as the lift started half a floor above ground level. As... More

We spent 3 nights in this hotel. My husband was on a training course in nearby Lambersart. We were in one of the attic rooms and although it was nice and clean it definitely needed re-decorating. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is being refurbished throughout so there was a lot of noise during the day. Unfortunately... More

Nice place to stay for few days. A walk distance to the old town with a set of good restaurants at the correr. Close the train station. Visit the bois de boulogne - amazing. Having a free day? Rent a car and visit Brugge and Brussels at Belgium, them are very Close.

Three star hotel with some upgrading work going on. As we stayed 4 nights but 2 were at the weekend we weren't too inconvenienced, although our friends, who were situated on a different side of the hotel were woken a 6am.The rooms were clean and comfortable, although we were amused that our friends in a twin-bedded room were provided with... Good location, close to the stations and old town. On a side street which can be quite busy at times. Old building which has been converted to a hotel with modern 1980s? inserte. Currently being updated with builders at work during the day (July 2014). Our room had been updated with new bathroom suite and tiles. Room 107 has mezzanine floor... More

My first impression of the hotel room was very nice: clean and up to my standard, then issues started. It was hot. Very hot. The toilet didn't flush properly but my biggest problem was the horrible loud noise of water down the pipes every time someone was having a shower or else. People use toilet and water all night long.... More
