Selected this hotel due to the proximity to the Christmas Market that was only a 10 minute walk away. Basement car park, good breakfast selection and pleasant staff. Would have been a 5 rating but for the refurbishment work and getting stuck in the lift just prior to checking out. We stayed in a refurbished room which was of a... More

I guess that as it is in the middle of renovation it is pot luck on the rooms. Ours was good, but tired and was showing its age. Staff very friendly, nice and close to Veille Lille centre. Watch the car park, if you park toward the middle, and the lower section there is a steel stanchion that your reversing... More

This was our second stay in this hotel. The hotel is being refurbished, prior to joining the Mercure chain and we were in a refurbished room. Nice decor, and a massive TV. One good thing was the lighting - we had strip lighting all the way along the room-size window and by the bed as well as two "snake" lights... More

Great location and reasonable price. Staff helpful. Bed comfy but the bathroom was scruffy and public spaces are stuck in a 70s timewarp. ...Thank goodness Mercure now own and are spending some long overdue money. Until then be warned.

We visited the Hotel des Tours as a party of 40 adults, over the weekend of 19-21 Sept '14, in order to attend the Last Post Ceremony in Ypres, Belgium. Research had shown that it was cheaper to stay in France and travel to and from Belgium, than to stay in Belgium itself. As the organiser in charge of accommodation,... More

This hotel may be just a step up from a travel lodge but what makes it good is its genuinely helpful and friendly staff and its central location near a lively part of old Lille where nearby rue des Gands houses many excellent restaurants. The breakfast was basic but adequate though the price looked high for what was on offer... More

This hotel was nicely placed and close to the rail, but the hotel was currently being refurbished we had one of the rooms that had not been done, it was shabby and the toilet did not flush after flushing it several times it still did not remove everything. For the cost of the room per night it was ok, but... More

The hotel is a little dated but is currently being refurbished, though this did not affect us at all. The rooms were comfortable. The air condtioning in our first room did not work but we were moved to another and upgraded. There are only 10 rooms with air conditioning so be sure to book one of these as otherwise it... More

We travelled to Lille so we could make a family pilgrimage, of sorts, to a couple of sites where family had been involved in WWII. Although the hotel staff were friendly enough, they weren't as helpful as I'd have expected and I struggled to manage the stairs - unavoidable, as the lift started half a floor above ground level. As... More

We spent 3 nights in this hotel. My husband was on a training course in nearby Lambersart. We were in one of the attic rooms and although it was nice and clean it definitely needed re-decorating. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is being refurbished throughout so there was a lot of noise during the day. Unfortunately... More
