We were desperate for somewhere to stay after schlepping around for ages and being indecisive. This wasn't cheap, but it was comfortable and clean. They found 2 adjoining bedrooms which did the job for a family of 4. The kids loved having their own slippers and TV. We missed visiting the ships nearby but they looked like a good way... More

Hotel doesn't look great from outside, but is well equipped with clean rooms at an acceptable price. Buffet-style breakfast and good wi-fi available. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Agree with previous comments on breakfast, and why have tea in the room but no sachets of milk?

We stayed at Hotel Borel for one night. The hotel is very tired. It needs some updating and modernization. The bathroom, however, was renovated which was a pleasant surprise. There was no air conditioning, so our room became warm and stuffy. The breakfast was disappointing - not enough variety and food not displayed in an appetizing manner. Wifi was very... More

Spent four nights at the Hotel Borel in May this year and had a mixed experience. The hotel is conveniently situated in Dunkirk and is clean and comfortable. The stay was let down somewhat by the loss of hot water due to a power failure for 24 hours - whilst the power failure wasn't the hotel's fault they were singularly... More

Stayed for 4 nights in this hotel, good central location, staff at reception welcoming, clean rooms, well appointed and serviced but unfortunately the breakfast service every morning was poor. A buffet style, but replenishment was very slow and the kitchen staff really made us feels as though they were doing us a big favour to just get more supplies. Guests... More

Right in the heart of this port town, the Borel is staffed by unfailingly friendly staff, and it's rooms are comfortable and nicely designed. This unpretentious town went through a horrendous time from 1940 to 1945, and its history is inextricably linked to The UK's, and the Borel is the perfect base for you to use if you'd like to... Only stayed here for the one night but found the staff to be very polite and welcoming... The hotel room itself I found pretty basic and would rate it more 3* rather than 4* but was very clean & tidy! As for the walls of the room, they are extremely thin and didn't leave much to the imagination as to... More

The hotel might be 4* but it was shoddy, the bath had separated from the wall, bulbs were gone etc. it was clean and a convenient location for town. The breakfast was a little underwhelming but it is what it says on the tin. Overall it is the minimum you'd expect for your money.

This hotel is located very near to the entre, overlooking the old harbour. It is easily accessible from the ferry port being about a 20 minute drive. Parking is easy in the road outside the hotel and is free. There is also a car park less than 100 metres away but this is chargeable. The hotel staff are very helpful,... More

Lovely little hotel. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the welcome is warm. Dog bowls provided for my dogs (for which there is no extra charge) and all the basics in the room. Separate shower and toilet which is useful. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. I loved the bed - really soft, just like sleeping on... More
