First of all, the location is excellent. it is a short 7 minute walk to the city center. That being said, the place has many problems. the rooms are quite small and the toilets and showers are tiny (like an airplane toilet). The main problem is noise - both in and out - every door slamming and every flushing of... More

I had my first impression when I entered the hotel as we had to carry the luggage ourselves up the stairs.. there was no one except the receptionist. My friends were luckier as they had a WC in their rooms. I had to use the only WC which was available in the lobby floor with other residents. When busy I... More

The best is the location, right across from the university and 2 blocks from the Capitole. Rooms are simple but clean and the bathrooms are tiny but at least they exist. Some rooms are right above the street, so it can be noisy.

If you look at the info at booking.com, for example, the information is not true. The hotel does not have any lift/elevator, you'll have to carry your luggage up the narrow stairs. Wi-fi is available only on the floor of the lobby. Breakfast is just one cup of coffee and a couple of croissants. Ah, and a glass of some... More

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights in March; while the lady at the desk is always nice and pleasant, the hotel itself needs a lot of TLC to bring it up to even it's 1-star rating - the was a strong smell of mold in the room, there is zero sound-proofing and the washroom was quite dirty.... Hotel Anatole France was exceptional. The staff did everything to accommodate me during my transition from hotel resident to citizen of Toulouse. I am so happy that I found this hotel. It is in a safe, beautiful neighborhood and for " hyper centre" location, you can't beat the price.

One night at this hotel left me feeling exhausted, more so that the six days cycling it took to get there! The area is very noisy, although the bar below is quiet after midnight: the main problem is that you can hear every sound being made within the hotel. And don't take up the offer of the sister hotel, the... More

They paid big bucks to someone for that beautiful website. Unlike other reviewers, we did not get bed bugs. However, it was not very clean, warm or homey. We stayed in much nicer Euro-style hotels in France that were the same price. Staff did not speak English. There was a lot of street noise outside the room. I'd skip this... More

When we arrived there one week after we booked our rooms (4 of us) on the internet based on the beautiful pictures that we saw on their web page, we were not little badly surprised. The rooms that we got were nothing like on those pictures. They were old, badly furnished, unclean, dangerous (in the bathroom electricity wires are unprotected... More

We had a reservation with this hotel in early June. When we arrived early morning we were told there was a problem with the room and they made an arrangement with an another hotel for us. They said an e-mail notification was sent out 24 hours earlier which we didn't get because we were on the road. Since we traveled... More
