I chose this hotel chiefly because of its location - very near the centre of the old quarter of Toulouse and its Government buildings and Opera, Le Capitole, set in a large Square. The Square is used for local markets and there are a number of Cafe Bars along one side - very good for people-watching, and not at all...

I found this hotel from a guide book then called directly to reserve. On various websites I saw that Albert 1er was highly rated, especially for location, and this property is directly next door. The price was about $250 for two nights, and we ate breakfast once. Breakfasts in hotels all over France seem to average 7 to 8 euros...
