Choosing where to stay in Rocamadour is a compromise. Do you opt for the hotel with atmosphere and charm, but geographically impossible to locate and park or do you elect for modern functionality, with ease of access and plenty of parking ?
We opted for the latter, knowing just how crowded and choatic the place can become, particularly in summer....

Whilst staying at this hotel, my husband said "if this is the second best hotel in Rocamadour [according to Tripadvisor], that doesn't say much for Rocamadour!" and I have to agree. Actually the hotel is basically OK but I think we were unlucky with our room.
However to start at the beginning, I didn't feel particularly welcomed on our arrival....

Me and my girlfriend stayed over at this hotel for one night when we visited the Rocamadour.
The hotel was generally good. Room was spacious and well designed, well equipped.

The modern style hotel, sober and classy,...

I am glad we chose Les Esclargies instead of a hotel in the town itself. It was in a serene setting, an enjoyable walk into Rocamadour and the room was very pleasant. We even had a little terrace area with a table and chairs to ourselves overlooking grass and trees.
Parking was so easy, too, and although some of the...

Quiet, lovely setting on the Chateau level of Rocamadour. The room décor was contemporary/modern, was bright, airy, invited the sounds of the outdoors, birds, wind, crickets (I think). The breakfast (for 11 euros each, each day) was ample, fresh, with variety…hot drinks orders were taken and provided by friendly service.

Attractive modern two story hotel on the cliff tops above the town. Was very quiet when we went but were welcomed by the manager who explained the locale. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms very smart and represent good value. Location was fine, if you can manage the walk into the old part of town.
