“Quiet and charming, not tired and tacky”

What a different experience we had than the others who reviewed before me. This small property was the perfect place to begin our tour of the Dordogne. We stayed in the turret suite on the second floor and it was beatifully decorated - all neutrals and fabrics and textures. A nice modern twist on a very old room. The views... more

This hotel is relatively expensive as is the restaurant. The room was Euro 270 and the menu Euro 55. Even when the place was newly renovated it must have been a bodge and that must have been some time ago judging from the state of it now. It is a very old Chateau that has been unter the same ownership for 40 years. It is obvious that the present owner is not reinvesting in the property. The meal was good, not great and not imaginative. I have read that the nearby Chateau de la Treyne is much better. more

An amazing chateau - warm and charming hosts, wonderful food and terrific atmosphere. We were made to feel very much at home. And for a final touch. . . Jacque, the official greeter and departure host. We will DEFINATELY return to this time machine to wisk us back to a different time and age! P.S. Jacque is the family dog!! more
