I like a hotel with a driveway. A driveway promises something rather splendid, and this one does not disappoint. Safeway away from the hullabaloo of Rocamadour (still worth a visit) this is a small collection of limestone buildings in beautiful grounds with wonderful views, a lovely heated swimming pool, and fabulous food. Dinner is served in the summer months in... More

Gosh, where to start? Initially the location with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Peaceful and quiet. One approaches via a quiet country road, through gates and up a long drive. The building itself, really quite ancient, beautifully restored, window boxes and a carefully tended garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful, showing us to our room in the... More

We have been staying in this hotel for years in our annual trip down to Spain. I always liked the place but I used to dislike the fact that they had no restaurant and the one near there where we used to go was always full of flies. But now the hotel has opened their own restaurant again, they used... More

Loved our stay in a 2-bed suite here - beautiful views over open rolling countryside and character of building (converted farm buildings) as well as excellent pool. Clean rooms and comfortable bed (by French hotel standards) and good breakfast. We did not have dinner as it was a bit pricey and down the road are a selection of other restaurants... More

The drive up to the Troubadour makes you feel as if you have been taken back in time to an age of quality and fine country living. My husband and I and our two children had our own " house" with two bedrooms each with en-suite, kitchen dining and living areas, a terrace and large lawn. Our dog was in... More

Troubadour is a lovely, peaceful, quality place to stay. Restaurant is excellent and there is a pleasant pool to relax by. Staff very friendly and attentive. Closed during day - I.e.no lunch on offer but if you stay by pool, drive to nearby town (not Rocamadour) and grab sandwich at local deli. Beds good and firm and very quiet to... More

This is a beautifully located hotel which is charming, clean, dog friendly and has an outstanding restaurant. The rooms are very easily accessed from the car park and the views across the countryside are stunning. The restaurant is a must, and though not cheap, the quality is Michelin Star standard.

The hotel is very much out in the country, with lovely views across to fields with lots of sheep. It's about a 20 minute walk to the nearest village, L'Hospitalet, then under 20 minutes to Rocamadour. There is a path from the back of the hotel which leads most of the way to L'Hospitalet & we used this to eat... More

Le Troubadour is about 1-2 kilometres outside the centre of the old town but that is a good reason for staying here. The old town itself has hotels but they open directly onto the central tourist street full of bars & trinket shops whereas La Troubadour is surrounded by generous grounds including a swimming pool overlooking the surrounding countryside. The... More
