beautiful setting ... in a historic old town. Plenty of atmosphere and things to do during the daytime but seemed very quiet in the evening in Montauban. We ate at L'Estranquet on Rue General as the hotel restaurant wasn't reviewed too well on here (see separate review for L'Estranquet) Nicw pool at the hotel and plentiful free parking

An old abbey, tastefully redone. Staff were efficient and very helpful. Lovely garden/dining area. Food is prepared nicely but a chef with one star. Soupe de poisson was delicious as was the cassoulet. We were nicely warned that the cassoulet was large. 1/2 Caesar salad was large and very crisp and delicious. Not your traditional dressing but very tasty. Grilled... More

Really lovely hotel and convenient for the main (though small) town right by the river Swimming pool just what was needed after a long drive from San sebastion but be very careful of the lip at the end of the steep ramp to the main car park. It grounded both our cars are one was difficult to free and get... More

We stayed in this four star hotel to visit the region around Montauban and Tarn et Garonne. Rooms are cleans but lacks nice decoration, staff professional and pleasant hotel well located near city centre and for nice rides with bike on Canal du Midi Hotel is a former abbey which has some cachet We were disappointed by the Spa, it... I wasn't as organized as I usually am and only booked this hotel last minute for a city trip with my partner. A quick look on the internet to find a romantic hotel in Montauban in a preferably historic setting lead me to find L'Abbaye des Capucins. They have a few really nice packages, at first I thought about taking... More

Interesting hotel in an interesting city. Spent 4 nights, great service, clean rooms, unique art work. Gods location as less than a 10 min walk to the old town center. Nice bistros in the old town for lunch. Would definitely stay here again! Restaurant also fantastic!

This is truly a wonderful property. Stayed here on business and made a presentation here in a wonderful room, followed by a wine tasting in the cellar. The wine tasting was held by the owner's son Guillome who speaks good English with a very thick gallic accent which added to the charm of the event. He was highly knowledgeable and... More

The building and common areas were rather disappointing. I was expecting much more from an old abbey converted into a great 4 **** hotel. I found the furniture, decoration, lightning and overall fitting-out rather uninspiring. It is just lacking the « wow » factor you could experience with better ideas and a more stylish approach. However, the huge Privilege room... More

We stayed on a Sunday night, on our way to the Dordogne region. It is a lovely hotel - just outside the old city and with ample parking. We had a comfortable and quiet room and found the hotel staff very helpful. Since it was Sunday evening, the main restaurant wasn't open but we enjoyed our meal in the Bistro.... More

We booked this hotel in Montauban for one night whilst travelling south to Spain. We had no idea what to expect and the Sat Nav added to our trepidation as it directed us through narrow side streets. However, passing through the gates of the hotel was a wonderful revelation. A superb building with tasteful refurbishment and a relatively secure car... More
