Comfortable and clean but needs refurbishing. This hotel has been owned by the same family for 4 generations. Lobby and restaurant areas were nice but rooms were a little tired. Beds were very comfortable and location was quiet and walking distance to the Shrine.

The reviews for this hotel are all over the place I didn't know what to expect. I feel like I need to set the record straight about this hotel. I just got back from Lourdes and let me tell you the Grand Hotel de la Grotte is charming- the staff couldn't have been nicer- the rooms and hotel were extremely... More

This is an old 19th century family run hotel which has seen better days. The public areas are good but the rooms are small and not very comfortable. Not sure how it justifies its five-star rating! The hotel overlooks the main town and the commercialised madness below. However it is only a few minutes walk to the basilica etc. There... More

We take a vacation in south-west France. We stayed in a 3-4 star hotels and we enjoyed every moment, tell we arrived Lourdes and check in at the Grand Hotel de la Grotte. It is an old hotel. It is so dirty and smells too bad. I think it is a one star hotel, not a 5 stars. It was... More

Dear me. The location is great, and there is a pool. The hotel is old and terribly run down. I'd say it is a 1 star hotel. However, the other hotels in town are also far from luxurious. Just recognize that you're there for the pilgrimage and grit your teeth til you can leave. Decent visit

My husband and I had dined at the hotel on previous visits to Lourdes, and had been very impressed with the food at the restaurant. This year we decided to book our stay at the hotel with our two small children and we were very happy with our choice. The hotel is family-run which gives it a wonderful atmosphere. The... More

We stayed two nights at, family owned, hotel. Six generations of the family have managed the site. How do we know this? The owner came out and greeted us as we listened to the musical entertainment that night in the outdoor seating for the bar/restaurant. He wanted to be sure all was in order for our stay. Our two days... More

Not everyone's cup of tea, this is an old hotel, not a new updated boutique hotel. If you like things a little old fashioned and quirky, this is your place. It is a little on the tired side but the manager is a hoot and we enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfortable and there was air conditioning, it didn't... More

Apart from the extraordinary view from our hotel balcony, this has got to be one of the worst hotels - if not the worst hotel - we've ever stayed at. After my husband sprayed the toilets with an air freshener, as the floor looked wet, I tried to wipe the floor dry with some tissue paper, and they turned black... More
