We arrived at the hotel metropole as part of an organised pilgrimage. There were 43 people in our group. We were given the key to our room on the third floor. The lift stopped on the second floor. We had to carry our bags up the last flight. The stairs were very steep, the rail was wobbly. Our room had one plug socket in the bathroom. The sink and shower plug holes were blocked. The toliet was loose. The beds were separated by a rickety table. A light didnt work. The room needed some severe modernisation!! Vegetarians were treated badly, a large bowl of lettuce was an alternative meal.
Some of our young people were asked to share 3 to a room. Sharing a double bed with a camp bed shoved in for good measure...
