Aurifat is the perfect location for a chilled out, get-away-from-it-all holiday. We stayed five days and my only regret is that we didn't book for longer. The location is just beautiful - you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but it's only a short walk from Cordes. Matt and Kay are great hosts, and provide delicious breakfasts on... More

This is our second time of staying there, the last was ten years ago, but the scenery and charm are as we remembered, the views are superb across a valley to the hills beyond and just below the wonderful historic town of Cordes which is a steep but rewarding walk with superb flowers increasing in abundance as you near the... Having just stayed 2 nights at Aurifat we have been spoiled by the warm welcome, superb setting, stunning views, and traditional medieval ambiance of this delightful place. Very tasteful decor complimenting the character of the house, with modern bathroom facilities and comfortable beds. Breakfast was perfect! Good coffee, home made bread, fresh fruit, croissants, and looking out over the beautiful... More

Hard to find, more difficult to get to even with GPS, no AC, no screen (think summer), no public area to sit or relax, only your room, which has very low doors (hitting your head at least a couple times per stay is unavoidable but hopefully no scalping), does not take credit cards, Euro only so bring cash. Bed and... More

I was very surprised at this review so let me respond to each point in turn: Regarding finding Aurifat : all guests are sent not only the GPS coordinates which are located on the house but also a written description in either French, English or American which gives the exact routes, where to turn at landmarks etc. This gets virtually... Aurifat is not the easiest B&B to get to, but once you do you're in for a treat. Matt and Kay go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one....they're just very nice people. The building itself is historical and has been turned into a comfortable, peaceful oasis with stunning views. We would stay again anytime and... More

Another hard to get to place, but well worth the effort. This is a refurbished building with multiple accommodation styles, and all appear to be very well done, and free wi fi is available. We had a good size room with a patio outside and a good size and quite modern bathroom. Large and comfortable bed and a couch and... More

My wife and I intended a brief stay at Aurifat on our way to other destinations. Due to ill health, we needed to book at the last minute and were absolutely delighted to stay for another couple of nights. Our hosts were extremely generous, kind and understanding of our situation. The accommodation was absolutely delightful; close to the old town... More

Loved my stay at Aurifat while researching my next book on France. Matt and Kay were lovely hosts and the location was superb for seeng Cordes sur Ciel. Took an after dinner stroll up to the olde city that was magical. Highly recommend this tranquil locale.

We stayed for just one night at the Aurifat Chambre de Hote. We had a great room with a deck overlooking the pool, and the fields and trees of the nearby farm. The room was spotless and quite large. The bathroom was also excellent. Matt and Kay had recently purchased the property and they provided great service and lively conversation.... More
