In a way this is a charming and picturesque french provincial hotel with a top location, certainly the best location in Verdun right in the middle of a pedestrian street in downtown a few metres from the riverside and the London quay. However it has unfortunately seen better days. It is too dark, dusty and rusty. It is just not... More

A comfortable hotel with more than adequate rooms. Breakfast extensive and tasty. Access to hotel is restricted for cars. Need to park public car park just to other side of fortified gateway structure.

Old and a bit worn, the hotel has a great location and the dining room serves a very nice meal. If you want to tour the battlefields, the hotel selection is sparse. I was leading a large group, and we found no other option. The dinner was a pleasant surprise - both food and service were very good.

For us this was everything that is "FRENCH" a warm but french welcome, old fashioned French furniture in the "hunting lodge style "It was centrally located and good for the battlefileds - I think we would not stay longer than our 2 nights here , the "frenchness" was probably a bit to over powering for us,

We took 4 rooms for 2 nights, 1st to the 3rd of August. It is probably true to say that, for Verdun, this may be the only reasonable choice. One of our party had stayed here thirty years ago and had good memories, regrettably the ''decor'' has not been touched since his visit. The bathrooms urgently need a complete overhaul.... More

We only spent one night in this hotel coming to visit battlefields around Verdun. This hotel in quite old and we had a feeling we had travelled a hundred years into the past. It does not only look old, it seems that everything is old there. Our room (#36) was quite small and did not have air-conditioning. Walls were covers... More

I think people are being a bit hard on this place. Yes, it is old. The hallways do smell a bit odd in warm weather (the rooms smell fine). There is no AC. But, it is perfectly located near the river with many shops and restaurants. The battlefields are minutes away. The room (rm54 for us) was huge with a... More

My party stayed at this hotel. It was a very interesting place and full of history. The hotel was built in 1827. Being that old, yes the floors creaked, it was a little musty smelling but the atmosphere was amazing. The hotel has character and if you like something different and are adventurous this would a nice choice. It's not... More

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst touring france on the bikes. The secure parking is a little way from the hotel about 5 mins walk throught the town. The rooms are very dated with free wifi that only works for 10 mins before you need to re-register. The bathroom looked clean but had a nasty smell that seemed to linger... More

This hotel is as old as the city itself. It seems like nothing have been done in here since a hundred year!!! It's a miracle that the don't still use candles to have light. If you want a really horrible old style hotel with real used furniture and a toilet from the past, then you will be right otherwise just... More
