The hotel is situated in the middle of the Town, close to all the restaurants and shops. We had one of the top floor rooms and although dated, it was clean spacious and comfortable. The hotel itself has plenty of character and charm, the staff were friendly enough and willing. The hotel is very close to the numerous battle sites... More

The excellent position at the centre of this historic town is wasted by disinterested management who make no effort to welcome guests, offer advice etc, and if you can't manage some French then beware! Attractively positioned rooms are let down by aged and ageing décor, when did you last see a 2-tone loo/seat? although the choice of restaurants locally at... More

In a way this is a charming and picturesque french provincial hotel with a top location, certainly the best location in Verdun right in the middle of a pedestrian street in downtown a few metres from the riverside and the London quay. However it has unfortunately seen better days. It is too dark, dusty and rusty. It is just not... More

A comfortable hotel with more than adequate rooms. Breakfast extensive and tasty. Access to hotel is restricted for cars. Need to park public car park just to other side of fortified gateway structure.

Old and a bit worn, the hotel has a great location and the dining room serves a very nice meal. If you want to tour the battlefields, the hotel selection is sparse. I was leading a large group, and we found no other option. The dinner was a pleasant surprise - both food and service were very good.

For us this was everything that is "FRENCH" a warm but french welcome, old fashioned French furniture in the "hunting lodge style "It was centrally located and good for the battlefileds - I think we would not stay longer than our 2 nights here , the "frenchness" was probably a bit to over powering for us,

We took 4 rooms for 2 nights, 1st to the 3rd of August. It is probably true to say that, for Verdun, this may be the only reasonable choice. One of our party had stayed here thirty years ago and had good memories, regrettably the ''decor'' has not been touched since his visit. The bathrooms urgently need a complete overhaul.... More

We only spent one night in this hotel coming to visit battlefields around Verdun. This hotel in quite old and we had a feeling we had travelled a hundred years into the past. It does not only look old, it seems that everything is old there. Our room (#36) was quite small and did not have air-conditioning. Walls were covers... More

I think people are being a bit hard on this place. Yes, it is old. The hallways do smell a bit odd in warm weather (the rooms smell fine). There is no AC. But, it is perfectly located near the river with many shops and restaurants. The battlefields are minutes away. The room (rm54 for us) was huge with a... More

My party stayed at this hotel. It was a very interesting place and full of history. The hotel was built in 1827. Being that old, yes the floors creaked, it was a little musty smelling but the atmosphere was amazing. The hotel has character and if you like something different and are adventurous this would a nice choice. It's not... More
