The Citadelle is a very nice building in a very nice town. Everything was good with the exception that it was impossible to sustain a WiFi connection in our room and there was no access to any English speaking TV channels that actually worked. We ate in the Brasserie; the food was excellent and good value for money.

We stayed here 2 nights on our way to Austria. The hotel was very good & our room was well equipped with an excellent bathroom. The brasserie served lovely fresh food & at very reasonable prices & was always busy lunchtimes & evenings so book first. Dog friendly too. Metz itself was well worth the visit & I would definitely... More

This was our second visit to this hotel, this time staying in a superior room which was spacious with nice little touches to make the stay special however the room didn't come up to standard, the heating didn't work properly and you couldn't actually open the windows which made for an unbearable night even with the bathroom windows wide open.... I stayed on after attending a conference in Metz. The rooms are large and comfortable, although my wife didn't like the soft mattress with a 'dip' in the middle... Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. If you want to eat at the Brasserie at the weekend book well in advance. Otherwise it's a 10 minute stroll to the centre... More

The hotel was chosen for it's central location. The hotel itself was clean, the room was large and the bathroom was very modern and looked nice. The room was so extremely hot, it did have adjustable temperature but it never cooled down in the room it was impossible to sleep. The hallway was like a sauna. The television was tiny... More

One of the best hotels in France for a one night stopover. Great rooms and great food and facilities and great value too. Challenging to find but worth it when you do. It is in the heart of Metz with free and easy parking for the hotel.

Modern, tasteful design has been put into an historic old building. The welcome and service were highly professional. The room was large and very comfortable. The location is close to the centre. The food was modern French and was excellent. One of the things that I will most remember is the modern art that captures your attention, especially in the... More

we arrived in Metz by car and it took nearly an hour to negotiate the one way system and find the Hotel ! We eventually had to go through an Underground Car Park . The Porter was helpful and spoke good English but the Receptionists did not converse well . The position of the Hotel is fabulous for walking to... More
