Stayed in this Hotel in June 2011. Looked good from the reviews but we found it to be not as good. The interior is rather cheap and the bathroom was horrible! We had NO hot water for two nights. Wall are thin and we could here the other guests' in their bathroom. Okay place to stay if you're on a... More

One night spent here watching my rugby team. Room very large and clean, what more do you need. Only spent time in the room washing and sleeping. Great location to the main bars were all the rugby crowds go. Would stay here again

I arrived in Perpignan with no prior hotel booking. The taxi dropped me off in the centre of town, I had a very heavy rucksack, so I literally walked into the nearest hotel to hand. It was the Hotel de France. At short notice, they had rooms available for one person at a cost of 54 euros for one night.... More

Having read the reports this seemed like a good choice, as stated the location is great however, the room we had was similar to the ones I used in the 70,s as a student in Paris, to descibe it as tired would be generous, it was dull the whole feel was of a squat, the bathroom was dated and not... This is the third trip I've done to Perpignan following my rugby league team, Leeds Rhinos. Have stayed in the Ibis and the Aragon but wanted somewhere a bit more central. This hotel is ideally placed, right by the Castillet and the Canal. Only a short walk from anywhere really. The rooms, although not the Ritz, were clean and comfortable... More

i think hotel de france is a below average hotel ..possible ok for one night ..but would not want to stay longer , saying that the staff were friendly and the place was clean just dated in some areas...the beds were comfy ..the breakfast is continental and ok but again a small choice . Among the things we valued most about this hotel, it was the English speaking staff - especially Alice - who made the hotel a great value and experience. They were so friendly and helpful, even making calls for us when our rental car died. Great location, comfy beds and quiet rooms too.

We had an unexpected stop in Perpignan, and the staff of the Hotel de France were extremely helpful in getting us a room on short notice. The room was large for the cost, with a nice bathroom. The hotel is right next to the old city center of Perpignan, within walking distance of lots of historic sites. The bed was... More

The hotel is well positioning within the centre of the town & whilst there isn't any parking, the nearest car parks are easy to find. The reception staff spoke good english & were very helpful. The room wasn't large but as we were only staying one night, that was fine. It was clean & the bed was very comfortable. The... More

Very central to shops and the main 'riverwalk' type area. Hotel is very, very clean despite being old. Staff was very friendly and let us store our backpacks, computers etc. without a fuss. One problem was that we stayed the night of a world cup game involving algeria - the street noise was unbearable for a few hours, because algeria... More
