The Hotel is good, on balance, with those good points: Belle Epoque architecture and interiors, partly, clean and functional too, good location. And those not so good points: quite noisy, from the interior, suitcases rumbling and doors clapping at all times. The owners and staff: the owner lady is outright rude, makes one feel totally unwelcome, the owner husband nervously... more

Central location, friendly and helpful staff, good value for money. What more can you say. We'll be staying there again, without any doubt. more

This is a quality 3 star approaching 4. It is run by a charming couple along with a courteous staff providing a comfortable atmosphere. The rooms, we stayed in room 19 for 2 nights, are spacious and refurbished with good taste, 3 meter high ceilings (19), modern and spacious baths. We then stayed in room 33 for 3 nights, a... more

- We needed a place to stay in Narbonne for one night. We had to catch the train early the next morning. La Residence is about a 10 minute walk to the SNCF station. - Our room on the first floor was smallish but the large window made it seem much roomier. The bath was quite adequate and spotless. The... more

We arrived in Narbonne late afternoon in September 2007 and chanced upon La Residence. One look in the recently restored reception and we were sold on the place. The hotel was undergoing a restoration which was complete apart from the top floor. Our first floor room was spacious, comfortable, air-conditioned and with a good bathroom. The secure parking is a... more

We stayed two nights in this 'three star' hotel in August 2006 and were very disappointed - in fact we were totally fed up. It was at best shabby, at worst dreadful. In our opinion our 2 rooms were in need of some serious decorating and updating. In places the wall paper was literally falling off the walls. The staff... more

We happened on the lovely town of Narbonne, because we truncated a stay in Carcassonne. We picked this one because it seemed the highest graded in our travel book. BUT, it was a real disappointment. No disrespect to previous reviewers, but what constitutes old world charm to some is like a living museum to others. One night was frankly more... more

We ended up at La Residence by chance, when we had an unexpected overnight stay in Narbonne due to train scheduling problems. This hotel was so lovely, decorated beautifully with antiques, every room original, and nice touches like great bath products and in our room, a beautiful canopy bed and a pretty chandelier. more

Just confirming previous posters comments. It's a very charming, slightly old fashioned hotel. Great location. Room 17 is the room with a balcony over the main entrance, it was a bathroom. more

We stayed for 3 nights at La Residence and were very pleased with our choice. It is sited right in the middle of Narbonne's beautiful centre, less than 100 mtrs from the attractive canal waterfront. All of the best sights and many bars & restaurants are within five minutes' walk. If you're looking for slick modernism or the facilities of... more
