My interior designer wife and I are exceptionally careful in the search for the perfect boutique hotel experience, and have selected gems across the UK, continental Europe, Morocco and South Africa, and Japan. Jardins Secrets is quite simply a category of its own in terms of the striking interiors, peaceful spaces, historical artwork and furniture and delicacy of touch. The... More

I have stayed here for 2 nights and felt it was necessary for me to warn any potential traveller of the outrageous and dishonest commercial policy of this hotel. Some key facts: the breakfast is probably one of the most outrageously priced continental breakfast ever witnessed. A basket of bread and croissants, jam, coffee, 1 orange juice (the second is... It's easy to see why this hotel polarises opinions. On the one hand it is a charming building, with antique-filled salons, a delightful garden and a small but pleasant pool. Its staff were all faultlessly charming and helpful. But as so often happens in similar properties, there is a trade-off between historic ambiance and the need for comfortable and practical... More

Only saving grace was the beautiful colonnade courtyard. Rooms were impractically appointed - small, the worst shower we have ever experienced and unjustifiably expensive extras. Would not return. Pool was also nothing like the pictures - sigh.

Visiting Nimes for the first time to see Meastro. Ennio Morricone in concert at the world famous Amphitheatre; where do you stay ? Jardins Sectrets was just the greatest choice we could make ~ and guess what, it wa the choice of our friend Ennio & Maria Morricone. They loved it too. The Jardins. Secrets is enchanting, romantic, quiet in... More

After checking out of the hotel from hell, we found this littel gem online, luckily they had 2 rooms available. Jaws dropped to floor as soon as we walked through the door into the fabulous walled garden, smelling of jasmine. Great little swimming pool as well which is a bonus after sightseeing on a sweltering day. The staff were extremely... More

The hotel is truly a labour of love. Everything is exquisite. The hospitality was wonderful. The bed was comfortable with great toiletries. There was also a boutique where you could buy your own to take home. Although for me we were traveling light so another time. The hotel was a work of art brimming with antiques. I loved exploring the... More

This is a very beautiful hotel, with really helpful staff. I must mention Joel in particular who made us extremely welcome and gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble. The beds were so comfortable and it's a lovely place to spend some time relaxing, whether you're in your room, sitting on the terrace, or out in the garden... More

Many people have written about how beautiful the garden is, how kind the employees are, how delicious the breakfasts are, how beautiful the rooms are, how excellent the linens and bath accessories are, and how sweet the cats, birds, and turtles are. ALL THIS IS TRUE! But I want to write about the extraordinary service. We do not think of... More

Absolutely amazing Hotel. Rooms are well decorated giving the impression of entering another century with perfect amenities (bed,bathroom...) Breakfast under the trees is a must. Near the center of town with its wonderfull restaurants .Moreover easy to find dedicated historical briefing with guides and visit some of the "hidden" Private Hotels from the 17th century. Staff seems to be under... More
