We stayed only a night coming back from a road trip on the Atlantique France so we were very tired when we got there, but service was polite. It is near the autoroute but is surrounded by trees and there was a peaceful place with private parking, garden, a swimming-pool with deckchairs. Room was wonderful, large, elegant, franch design, rococo... more

when we arrived at l'orangerie, I was a bit anxious due to the round road close to this establishement. However, we spent a really nice stay in this famillial Hotel. Staff was clever and very helpfull, our suite room was lovelly, a great space created around the maroccan touch. This hotel is located in a middle of some old trees,... more

Location is handy, but not charming (off a main road around Nimes) though it is not noisy. There is a nice, small pool (very cold!), and there is a Casino cafeteria close by which was great for the kids/ tea. The food in the hotel was fine, nothing special, though breakfast was very nice. We has 2 adults and 2... more

The prior review by Mandelbrot says it all. We arrived in Nimes after an all-day drive from Dijon. At the time, Tripadvisor had a fairly high rating for the hotel (#4 of 36, or something like that). Based on this rating, we booked a room at L'Orangerie. As a preliminary matter, to get there, you have to drive through Nimes,... more

This hotel committed two cardinal sins in my book. Firstly, we booked it as a stopover on a very long car journey - 1200 miles - and key to this was an ability to arrive, eat and sleep. Despite extensive advertising as a hotel with excellent dining -its own literature decribes it as one of its prestige dining hotels -... more

The hotel is very quiet, comfortable and was within easy walking distance to Nimes centre. Would rate this hotel as a 3 star. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Dining was excellent with great presentation. more

Arriving at L'Orangerie the first time for me was like arriving at a stately home; a winding drive through tall trees to an ample carpark, then a stroll though the garden to reception. Well located if you have a car, this hotel is just off the ring-road outside of Central Nimes (5-10 minutes walk/bus/drive to town & station). A very... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in early September 2006 during a visit to Provence. We flew into Nimes airport and the hotel is easy to find, being close to the ring road to the south of Nimes. The hotel has plenty of car parking and is reasonably comfortable but everything looks a bit tired. There is a small unkempt... more

We stayed here for four nights and were by and large happy with the place. Our room was large and pleasant with a nice little terrace. There were one or two signs of wear and tear but it was very clean. As said in other reviews the staff are very friendly and helpful, but the walk into town (an easy... more

This was the third hotel of 4 during a 10-day tour with a group of students. It was a wonderful place to relax and recharge. The location is perfect, just far enough from the road to be quiet, but close enough to the city center to walk if so desired. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and tolerant of the... more
