This hotel is basically a Bed and Breakfast ( Chambres d'Hotes ) as I saw no evidence of lunch or evening meals. However that said the rooms were small but clean and well appointed. We stayed for three nights in August and the air-conditioning worked well. Its a 30 min walk to Nimes centre or 8 euro taxi ride. The... More

After a busy day of sightseeing, it was nice to enjoy a pleasant swim in a clean, convenient pool. The hotel is situated a 15-minute drive from the city center. The room itself was basic but clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. There was no elevator so we had to carry our luggage upstairs. The hotel had a... More

Best Western L'Orangerie is a suburban mid-range hotel with acceptable rooms and passive personnel, near a major traffic thoroughfare and a long walk from the old town. It meets the franchise standard but does not go much above it. Best Western is more like a cooperative that grants franchise to members that meet the brand requirement. Every member retains its... This is one of only a few hotels in Nimes with a pool - if that is important to you, this hotel has a lovely pool area. A small pool with shower and jacuzzi, surrounded by beds and parasols and trees, with drinks service, it was a truly lovely place to sunbathe. The hotel itself is quite small and low... More

When we booked the Best Western L'Orangerie in Nimes, we already learned that though a chain hotel, when in Europe, everything is adapted to the local character, manners and of course, national cuisine. So, the only thing to decide is the number of stars one wants to pay for, and this "L'Orangerie" is a very large, provencal villa, on picturesque... More

We stopped of here while on a driving holiday on what seemed to be to 2 hottest weeks of the summer. We were so thrilled to turn off the busy road into what seemed like a tropical oasis, a swimming pool in a small courtyard surrounded by greenery. After checking in we had a swim then ventured out for something... More

Had no idea this was a best western hotel when we booked it. We were looking suddenly for a hotel late at night because we were treated so badly by a rude frenchman that owned the B&B we booked. Normally I would never stay in a chain hotel but I must say we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was cute... More

I don't like to make ultimate statements, but I didn't like the hotel. When booking it I expected much more as it's a Best Western franchise hotel. The biggest problem is that the building is very old with all old locks, handles, furniture. It may seem cute and nice on photos but in fact it's not. The age of the... More

Lovely little hotel. Easy to find. 20 minutes walk to the centre of Nimes. Lovely room - upgraded free of charge. Balcony overlooking pool. Very clean and comfy. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Very impressed with Nimes itself - loads to see and do so definitely worth a visit.

Myself and my partner came here on our first holiday together. What a place to go. When we arrived in the blistering heat, we walked in to a beautiful air conditioned lobby to meet a very friendly receptionist. Our French wasn't too good, and nor was her English but we muddled through and she gave us the key to our... More
