this was definitely the most unusual hotel we stayed at but was charming...and great value. Terrific location in the old town...a few minutes from the temple/amphitheatre and all the best restaurants. The building is 1700s..the staircase has been cleaned but not changed. This is the centre of the building and the charm hinges around it. The staff were very helpful... More

I got the room directly fronting the street and the pizzaria across the street was noisy unitl 1am. I could not sleep well at all! Several light fixtures in the room did not work...but it was OK I guess. The front desk staff did not speak much English but they were friendly overall. You can get free wifi here which... More

Firstly I would rate this as a 3 star hotel rather than a 4 star. The bedroom was fine except that the safe did not work. This was just as well as I discovered it wasn't actually fixed to anything and I could carry it around. The bathroom, whilst modern, showed damage from previous floods. Moaning over- both the communal... More

It looks pretty normal from the outside but the stone courtyard steps are so beautiful inside. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful and the hotel was good value for money. What would make it great is if the rooms carried through a bit of the charm that the courtyard exudes, they don't have any original features. Also an easy... More

We stayed at the Marquis de la Baume for 2 nights in May. The room was fairly comfortable - nothing fancy and as it was an "inner" room, it opened onto an alley, which tended to be noisy evenings and early morning. The stairwell is a lovely architectural asset, but the rooms (at least ours) are about what you'd find... More

I spend one night in this hotel. Was nice, the street is calm, even if located in the full center. The building is a old building, charming. The rooms are nice and large, some times a little bit dark because of the construction of the old building. The service is good and you will enjoy all the center of Nîmes... More

Postives- Lovely Staff. Based on a 17th.century Mansion House -this hotel has character, with a lovely interior stone staircase and open atrium -wet if its raining. The location is central -within easy walking distance of all the main sites- Les Halles/ Porte Augustus very close. 15 minutes walk to train station. Room clean, bned comfortable. Breakfast OK but pricey at... More

we like very much de decoration in a very old building, the location is also quite good, next to all tourist places, and we could get a low price, around 75 euros a day; rooms were very clean as well.

To be honest, if we had only seen this from the outside, we would have gone on by! BUT the inside is fabulous and the location perfect for a trip to Nimes. Amazing renovated building with lovely rooms, great staff, great breakfast and terrific value. We started badly with a leaky sink but the receptionist didn't hesitate to change our... More

How do you measure a hotel experience. This was in every respect among the best and we've stayed in a great many. The service and facilities were superb, but look at the pictures: the spiralling stone staircases, the stone floors in the public spaces, the atmosphere was worth the visit. Nimes is a charming city and this hotel is a... More
