we have stayed at this small family run hotel in the Ecusson ( old) quartier of Montpellier for over 20 years. it is such a lovely small friendly hotel with Nathalie now running it after her mother Rose has retired. the rooms are all delightfully decorated and clean smart bathrooms.the breakfasts are delicious with all sorts of yummy fresh fruit,croissants... I stayed here for a couple of nights, it's pretty central, you walk to most of the main sites within a few minutes. The rooms are quite basic but are attractive in the French shabby chic way. The breakfasts are great, well worth the 10 euros, and the service was very welcoming and friendly. Be warned however, as this is... More

We picked up our rented car at Montpelier airport , drove into the CIty, parked and walked 250m to the Hotel du Palais. Its position by the Arc de Triomphe at the top of the main shopping street was ideal and we left immediately to enjoy the warm evening air. Perfect. After a bottle of local white wine and a... More

Situated in the car-free zone, up the hill from the cathedral and a block from the busy rue de Foch, the small hotel looks like something out of a Bonnard painting, terra cotta coloring, potted flowers, wrought iron furniture in the breakfast room, calico cat that plays its part. Quiet and well-located for walking to all the tourist sites, and... More

While the location of this hotel and the level of cleanliness were not issues, the management was. This is another of those places where there is no one on duty at night. Despite a confirmed booking indicating that the room would be available from 1300hrs, it was not ready until well after 1430hrs and no apology for the delay was... More

This is a lovely little hotel. Wonderful welcome, vey helpful staff. The hotel is housed in a typical, beautiful ´palais'. It is superbly situated, right in the centre of the old town, 200 yards from the famous Law Courts and the Arc de Triomphe ( Montpellier version). A less than 5 minute walk from the old flower market, Place de... More

We loved this! Everything was French-style and was beautiful. Breakfast was traditional French, eggs, croissant, cheeses and breads, plenty of coffee and fruit. Staff very friendly and will help arrange things if needed. Location is fantastic for the old streets and for the park/gardens. A short walk to plazas. Comfortable stay. Just loved it! Priced well for its location Remember... More

I stayed with my mother at the Hotel Du Palais for a week, Saturday to Saturday. The hotel is in a good location, about 5 - 10 mins walk to Place de la comedie. It is on a quiet backstreet near to nice cafes, restaurants, art galleries and antique shops. There is a bakery a few minutes walk from the... More

Old style charm to its exterior, few original features remain evident within but the views out from the balcony onto the little square in the pedestrian area are pleasant and evocative. Ideal for accessing the numerous little restaurants, cafes and bars in the quarter near the Arc de Triomphe nearby at the summit, the gracious Belle Epoch residences and boutiques,... More

Excellent location, this small hotel is friendly, quiet and charming. 5 minutes walk to the commercial area, sourounded by restaurants and near a wonderful patisserie. Rooms are basic but spoteless, very clean, with central heating that works really well. I will bring my family here, although I was in a business visit (twice, total 10 days). The breakfast is good... More
