We used the tripadvisor advice and we booked this hotel, supposed to be in the center of the city. What a joke! It is some distance from the center and cannot be approached by vehicle because of the two year ongoing tram line work, ie. we had to drag our luggage through the dirt and dust of the surrounding streets.... We stayed at the Hotel des Arceaux en route to a holiday in the Pyrenees Orientales. The first thing to say is that if you're planning on getting the tram from the station to the hotel (a cheap and convenient way of getting there), don't follow the instructions on the hotel website. Turn RIGHT when you get off the tram... More

A small hotel with all facilities. The staff is very helpful - specially with bringing up the luggage - as there is no lift ! Very close to the city centre, with a nice garden. Really enjoyed our stay.

a good place to explore montpellier, about 10min walking distance to the city center with car parking nearby. the rooms are nice but tiny, the service friendly, breakfirst in the beautiful garden cost you an extra 12€ pp which should have been included in the room price. overall, not a bad place to stay, if the breakfirst had bern included... If you have the fortune to visit Montpellier, make sure to give "des Arceaux" a try - a small boutique-style hotel with friendly staff, free WiFi and - most importantly - a really good breakfast, and a wonderful garden to have breakfast...or to relax with a glass of wine in the evening. US travellers may find the rooms a bit... More

This is rated as a 3 star hotel, which, I am sure is correct by classification, however the calibre of its ambience, position, decor, staff professionalism & warmth, makes it extremely desirable and greater than its status. Positioned slightly outside the ancient city core but still within the bounds designated by the 200 year old impressive neo-Romanesque aqueduct (yes, I... More

The hotel is classically French on the outside and ultra-modern on the inside. The hotel room was relatively small but very comfortable (the bed was as good as anything I've ever slept in) and the bathroom was again small was one of the best small bathrooms I've seen. The staff were really friendly and helpful, offering assistance with maps and... More

I initially booked this hotel for 2 nights and ended up extending for 1 extra night. I stayed in two different rooms – one with the view on courtyard/garden that had smaller shower area and second with the view on aqueduct/street with much spacious shower. Aqueduct is lit up with blue lights at night, very charming. Rooms have different style,... More

Room is fine, though in the smallish side. Hotel is near, but not in the center (10 minutes walk). Breakfast is good, but no cooked food (bacon, omelette, etc) by default. Staff is certainly very nice. Price/quality ratio is fine.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights while traveling through South France, and we loved it! The room was very comfortable, clean, and modern, and the staff were all very patient with my terrible French. The highlight for us, though, was Cecile the night manager. She was so sweet and accommodating (she offered to take our laundry to... More
