Hotel with a lot of history but a bit frayed around the edges. Situated in a great location about 2 mins from railway station & main city centre. Arrived at night in a huge thunderstorm with flooding & a power blackout for the hotel & city centre. Staff were excellent & concerned we were OK. Breakfast was great. more

On arriving early, we were allowed to use the pool and were given towels. The friendly reception staff took our bags for us and off we went to the pool which was small but big enough gor the amount of people using it. When we checked in we were upgraded to the Executive suite which was lovely, spacious, clean (although... more

Two of us visited this Holiday Inn hotel and were dismayed by the bathroom. The bath itself is positively dangerous to get in and out of. There clearly hasn't been a refurb or refit for some time. A walk in shower was out of the question! Really not acceptable in this day and age! Staff were very helpful apart from... more

Hotel is located in the city centre and close to all a visitors needs. Staff friendly but room was not great. First appearances really do make an impression on a person and walking down the corridor I though this hotel was not maintained at all. I had to slam the bathroom door a few times to close since the door... more

The hotel is centrally situated. So some early morning noise should be expected. The room we had overlooked the courtyard, the room was quiet and well maintained. Staff were helpful, and many spoke English. Breakfast was excellent and the service very good. All in all the hotel was more than adequate for our needs Roz and Annwen more

Just back from a Travel Editions tour staying at this hotel. As a result of other reviews, I expressed my concerns to the tour firm shortly after I booked. I was told that 'faded grandeur' probably described the hotel best and this may be true, but I can only say that I was very pleasantly surprised especially in view of... more

We stayed here as part of the Traveleditions' Xmas trip to Langedoc Rousillon. Even though we specifically requested a quiet room we were allocated room 103 on arrival - right over the road! We immediately asked to be moved and were told there was only one room left at the back (307). This we gladly accepted because it was at... more

This hotel is tired and grubby. The staff have a poor attitude and the head waiter was not interested when we told him at breakfast that the fruit salad was well past its best and the hard boiled eggs were bad. The curtains in the room were torn and the hotel was generally dusty and shabby. This is not 4... more

We arrived at the Hotel extremely tired after a very early flight to be allocated a 'standard'room on the third floor. Our first impression was extreme disappointment as the room was small, did not smell fresh and was old and very tired looking. However, we unpacked into drawers and wardrobes that were falling apart at the seams and thought we... more
