Unless necessary due to lack of availability, we don't usually book anything less than 4 star hotels, however the location and the Art Deco influence prompted the decision to book here. Pleasantly surprised at everything, the welcome, the gorgeous room with two balconies, the decor, the l'occitaine toiletries. It's also surprisingly quiet despite being in the heart of the old... Have stayed here four times. Very well positioned next to main square. Rooms do vary by size. Rooms in main part of building have better bathrooms. Quirky decor in main area on ground floor is interesting and different. Buffet breakfast is excellent. Everything you would need is available.

We stayed here for three nights when attending a wedding in nearby Clapiers. The hotel is old, grand and welcoming. It has been sensitively refurbished, with some interesting modernist artwork. The room was clean, decent sized and very comfortable. The multi lingual staff were extremely helpful and friendly and breakfast was very good. The hotel itself is situated right on... More

I stayed at the Grand Hotel du Midi for three weeks this summer and then my daughters joined me for the last few days of my stay. It was home away from home. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are large and the beds comfortable. The reception staff are amazing and always ready to help. The breakfasts are wonderful and... More

We stayed here two nights. Great location. The hotel has gorgeous architectural features that are somewhat covered up by a failed attempt to incorporate modern elements using tacky paint and ill-chosen accessories. The reception was friendly and our room, looking out over the side wall of the opera house, spacious but nothing special. Again ugly paint colors and an out... More

I stayed here recently, and at 5am a violent aggressive male entered my room. The door was of course locked at the time and he must have had a hotel security code or key. I challenged him and he verbally abused me and left. I immediately notified the hotel staff and they were rude and unsympathetic and told me that... More

This should be an excellent hotel. We have stayed here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is close to the station and the amenities, it is clean with large rooms and friendly staff - usually. This time however, it ended rather differently. I am disabled and confined to a wheelchair though I try not to dwell on it and try... More

The staff at the Grand Hotel du Midi was top notch. Fluent in both English and French and able to recommend restaurants and sight-seeing of varying budgets. The room was nice, the bed was comfy. The location was good, parking was difficult. If you're driving, call ahead for parking guidance.

Located right next to he main square Placa Comedienne hotel is in the middle of everything. Having said that one might think it is a noisy hotel. Far from it. It was so quiet and peaceful even though we had our balcony on the street side. Our standard room was clean and very spacious for a 3 star French hotel.... More
