I booked this hotel before I read these negative reviews and then had some concerns but I had no problems at all. The room was one of the least expensive and nicest I had in France, overlooking the interior courtyard with a distant view of the castle. There were no noise problems, though the restaurant was open. My friends and... More

This is a restaurant with rooms and not a hotel. We arrived just after the check in time of 6.00 pm and were greeted by a member of staff and after paying our bill (there is no-one around when the restaurant closes and they were not open the following day), we were shown to our room just up a small... Carcassonne is wonderful - AFTER the crowds leave! We parked outside the city wall and struggled through the crowds and the main gate, later learning that there's a stair below the church much closer to where we were able to park and used it to exit. Much more convenient. Staff was very helpful at check-in and also provided us great... More

I have not had to write a negative review before, but this place needs it. Thought this would be nice, within the city walls. Unfortunately you can only check in after 18h00, when someone turns up to get the restaurant going for the evening (and they were late). This is extremely inconvenient on cold, dark autumn evenings. Then there is... More

The rooms above this restaurant are average mid-range accommodation for France. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but the room was clean, and the bath was deep. Our meal at the restaurant was good as well. Be warned there is noise going on most of the night and day, it seemed, at the restaurant which can keep you up if... More

"How delightful," we thought, "to stay right in the medieval Cite of Carcassonne." Our welcome at the inn was warm and we were installed in a nice room with a view of St. Nazaire Basilica. It was 5pm so out we went to explore "Les Lices". After a meal of the tasty but ubiquitous cassoulet, we returned to discover that... More
