Some people will want to stay within the City Walls, but I think this hotel just outside is the better choice. It is quiet, has lovely grounds, has on site parking and seems to be better value for money. The room we stayed in was rather small, but extremely comfortable. We had a great night sleep. It appears to have... More

We originally booked at the Hotel Montmorcency, but found the room small and uncomfortable. When it looked like bad weather was forcing to stay inside we moved to the Hotel du Chateau, which is owned by and shares the reception and breakfast room with the Hotel Montmorcency. Much better value for your money.

We booked this hotel based primarily on its location, but it turned out to be much more than we ever expected. Perfect setting adjacent to the old city, beautifully decorated everywhere you turn, fabulous outdoor spaces, and very professional staff. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful for $15 Euro per person. The 2 family dogs roaming around simply added to the... More

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is nice and clean and in a great location outside of the city walls. Our room was on the lower level looking onto the street and with the windows open at night it was a bit noise with car and pedestrians. With the windows closed it was fine. The views from the... Located right on the entry of La Cite, this hotel is perfect if you want to explore the old town. Actually location was the main reason why I decided to book a room at the Hotel du Chateau as I was in town for the Festival de Carcassonne in July and the action was just a few steps from my... More

The room was small but clean quiet and comfortable. It was right across the road from the walled city so it's a perfect location to explore the castle then regroup before venturing out again for dinner. I also took advantage of the spa for a relaxing massage.

Convenient, right outside the old Castle. Parking on premises. Music in the bar area was blasting all over the entrance, seating, dining area. Awful, monotonous new wave stuff. Music should be in the background, not the foreground in a hotel lobby, bar, eating area. The place is sub-titled 'Charm and Design'. Well-designed? Consider this: The bed room area has a... More

This hotel with pretentious to sophistication would seem more appropriate as a boutique hotel in a big city than as a base for visiting the medieval town of Carcassonne. Things got off on the wrong foot when the female partner owner could not find my reservation in the computer. She was rescued by one of her staff who found it... More

This hotel lived up to every expectation. We had a great room with a real 'Wow' factor - a junior suite which was in a beautiful secluded part of the garden but totally in touch with all the amenities. The decor and design was superb, loved the layout and ambience of the room. The hotel itself and the staff delivered... More

Fantastic location. Welcomed by two gorgeous dogs. Bar service excellent. Breakfast simple; but perfect. Gardens superior & clearly well loved & very stylish. Room well decorated. English spoken which helped us really relax. Try the locally made yoghurt.
