We stayed for three nights in a junior suite. Lovely room - the window overlooking the bath from the bedroom appealed to our quirky taste and for those people who are modest there is an automatic blind! Didn't bother us at all, just made us smile. Breakfast is excellent with a strong emphasis on quality local produce from local suppliers.... More

V disappointed- gone rapidly down. V poor service yet v expensive. At €235 a room I expect water, kettle etc. but found an empty fridge & no staff available when I requested a bottle of water. Avoid this hotel despite good location outside old town gates.

Lovely hotel in a tremendous setting overlooking the cite. Great outdoor areas and lovely pool to cool off in. Rooms great apart from an odd window between bathroom and bedroom which isn`t great if your daughter is sharing the room with you. Service excellent. All good BUT why, when spending nearly £1,000 on 4 nights here can they not run... More

This was our worst lodging experience during a seven week vacation in France. While our other accommodations, in most cases exceeded our expectations, this hotel didn't come close to meeting them. I understand that it is a family run business and it appears to be a family that is in dire need of training in customer relations. The only thing... More

Your dismissive attitude view insulting to us but also to our team is totally unacceptable and totally opposed to the spirit of our house. Year round we give the maximum to satisfy our customers that we respect and with whom we have excellent relations, as is clearly transcribed many in our opinion. Our business is our passion and we try... More

We stayed for one night as wanted to look around the old city. This is the nearest you can get, about 100 yards from the entrance to the city. The room we had was fairly small but well appointed with bathroom, separate toilet and shower as well as bath. One small problem was the taps had the wrong labels on... More

This hotel isn't cheap - but the rooms are great and service excellent. Stayed here twice, 2009 and 2013. 2009 in main hotel, lovely room. In 2013 we stayed in the pool rooms, beautiful romantic spaces with a lot more room and straight into pool - on a hot Carcassonne afternoon, that is a blessing you really do wish for... More

As we unintentionally got to carcassone the day before the tour de france passed through the city, it was pretty hard to find a room in the city center. After five or six failed tries, we found the les chetaux hotel right outside the la cite city walls, great location, but the price was unbelievebly high. We were tired and... More

Really nice hotel on the edge of the medieval walls. We stayed in room 12 which was a deluxe room with great views, especially at night. They have two fat lazy dogs that sit about the hotel all day but they were friendly. The bathroom has walls of glass so you can see from the bedroom and the toilet door... More

Amazing service, nothing was any trouble at all for the staff. Room was everything you could want, and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was both generous in terms of volume and variety. Everything was fresh and mostly locally sourced. The location couldn't be any better, it's directly opposite the main gates to the old city. Overall a 10 out of 10

My wife and I chose this hotel for its location and its boutique nature and we were not disappointed. The hotel is right outside the castle walls, so it takes no time to get there for a visit. The hotel appears to be a family-run business and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We were given a room on... More
