Excellent value . Great location. We found having a small kitchen really helpful. Able to take avantage of local bread, ham , cheese etc for a light meal rather than eating out all the time. Fantastic to be so near the the Cite. Able to walk up the narrow side streets to the castle walls. Fab in the evening. more

My husband and I spent three nights at this hotel as we explored Carcassonne and the surrounding area. The hotel was simple but clean, comfortable, and spacious. Best things: 1.) very convenient location (but I don't know where this fabled boulangerie is that others noted: we couldn't find anything any closer than the old city); 2.) free, easy, & reliable... more

We had two nights in an appartment double room in April. The location of this new hotel is right on the edge of Carcasonne, and right underneath the fantastic medieval citadel. However, the hotel is shoe-horned onto a plot with roads on either side. The room was as advertised: a double room with corner kitchen, but only just large enough... more

We booked through Expedia and got a one (huge) bed studio for around £42 per night. The rooms were spacious, and although minimal, very comfortable and clean. Adequate cooking facilities, although take a travel kettle as others have said. The position is great, just a short stroll from the old City walls and fab at night. Very little open this... more

This hotel is ideally located right next to the medieval city. To get to the hotel you will need a taxi but after that its a short 10 minute walk into the old city or 10 minutes in the opposite direction to the new town. The receptionist at this hotel was very friendly and helped us solve a tv issue... more

We've just returned from a 3-night stay at the Citea apartment / hotel in Carcassonne and we had a lovely time. The accommodation is in a fantastic location, sandwiched between the picturesque river Aude and the walled mediaeval city. We arrived on Friday at 10am and as it was a clear sunny day we decided to walk to the Citea.... more

The hotel location is so good. Just behind La Cité walls and like 2-3 minutes walking until you get in there. Appart from that, there's not much life around... no bars, supermarkets or whatever. They have parking but I found place just in front of the main door and it looked like you should have no problem to park your... more

Just back from 5 nights in Carcassonne, staying at the Citea appartments. Overall, had a positive experience. Appartment cost 50e per night - - - it was very spacious, clean, towels changed daily, had reasonably adequate cooking facilities. Would consider it to be excellent value for money and would definitely recommend it to others. The only negative aspect I feel... more

Very easy to find if you approach from the south, this hotel is probably as close as you need to be to the old city, and close to the river. Carcassonne is a city best viewed from outside the walls - inside, the word 'fromage' springs to mind. The approach from the direction described is stunning. The hotel is basic... more

we spent 5 nights in Citea la barbacane; From our bedroom window we looked up at the old walls of La Cite - lit up at night! we had booked a double room but it is an apart hotel so we got an apartment; very clean, very comfortable, towels changed daily and bed made up. Staff were helpful and friendly.Breakfast... more
