Fantastic location and free parking on site - short walk to La Cite and can walk across the bridge to the new town. Plenty of good restaurants to eat at in the walled city. caracsonne was the least enjoyable part of a 4 week trip around Europe. The castle can occupy you for 1/2 day, but after that theres nothing to see. We normally don't stay at chain hotels, but this one fits the bill to be so close to the main gate of the walled cite. It is enchanting at night and early morning before the crowds arrive. Espace Cite is a small modern hotel less than five minutes walk from the main gate to the Cite. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spotless, the air conditioning, and plumbing works, the airport bus drops you off at the door, the price is good and the location is brilliant .
