Elegant house with about 25 bedrooms all differently decorated. You do have to be careful when selecting room type as many do not have a shower only a hand held spray. Simple grounds and pleasant looking pool. Two restaurants - more than adequate bistro overlooking golf course and a fine Michelin starred dining room. Knowledgeable staff in particularly the sommelier.... More

While the walls are recently redecorated they haven't taken to account the clashing overly patterned carpets , Try get a better room than the standard one we had , we were going to stay near or in the old town of Carcassonne which can get rather crowded but we do enjoy Hotel des Remparts , The food at the restaurant... While imposing Carcassonne may be grand and historic - it is definitely brooding and sombre. Not so the sparkling jewel on the hills above that has long welcomed the discerning patrons who flock unerringly to its doors, and know class when they find it. This 19th C townhouse is built on the cellars of an early Carolingian Abbey. The hotel... More

I have stayed many, many times at this hotel and I have always found it outstandingly excellent, entirely tailored around the visitor's needs and completely chic. The owner's eye for detail and the regular refurbishments, and excellence in service, is a veritable testament to the Relais & Chateaux mark of excellence.

Stayed here 15 years ago and returned in July this year. It is still run by the same family who have managed to maintain their high standards. They are still so friendly and helpful. Our room was not big, but we were only there for one night, so could not have expected more. We had a lovely view over the terrace.... More

Sadly I have to disagree with most recent reviews of this hotel and restaurant. Hotel common parts: old, dated dark and depressing. The hotel itself looked like it was being managed on a shoestring budget. It almost looked abandoned. After a 5 hour drive, we arrived at 8:00pm in 38 degree heat. We were exhausted. We asked if we could... More

This is a beautiful, warm and comfortable hotel in Carcassonne. We were greeted warmly and because we were staying for 3 days, were upgraded to a bigger room. In addition, we arrived too late for lunch but the kitchen staff whipped us up some sandwiches and wine, which hit the spot. Fresh baguette, ham, cheese and butter, so simple yet... More

We have returned here several times for " special occasions" and the quality of food, service, welcome, accommodation and obviously location we consider unparalleled. The next door golf club bar and restaurant make a perfect lunch venue prior to a leisurely afternoon by the hotel's lovely pool. The Michelin starred dining is on the lovely terrace in the summer and... More

This is a wonderful place for a fancy dinner in the summer. They have a beautiful patio looking out on the grounds (including the pool), where you can enjoy a nice al fresco meal. The service was excellent, and the sommelier was very helpful. Highly recommend the tasting menu!

The surrounding grounds are beautiful but the patio restaurant was the best. We had the full on multi course menu with wine flights (very generously poured) and it was the balm we needed after a long drive north. The room was getting a little dated and the carpet a bit worn but still a beautiful hotel with lovely and caring... More
