ThIs is a smart, but not luxurious hotel within the walled city of Carcassonne, so it scores top marks for location. Not forgetting of course that this is a 4 star hotel not a 5 star. The public rooms are stylish and characterful, but these only really extend to the lobby and the (quiet) bar. Courtesy of air traffic control... More

Does anybody here has any doubt that Carcassonne is a touristic place ? Maybe a 6 star one ? Well, the end of the story is that this 4 star hotel (4 star only due to it´s location) doesn´t change money for you nor even accepts payment in other currency than the EUR (and I tried to pay in USD).... I picked this hotel because it is inside the walled city, right next to "La Cite", the medieval fortress, and I love the idea of staying in medieval towns. In retrospect, I would have picked a place in the lower town. The walled city has no parking which was inconvenience since I had a few bags in this trip and... More

This was a fabulous base from which to explore the labyrinthine citadel. We even took our enormous dog and he was made very welcome. An absolutely captivating place. It does feel like stepping out into a fairytale land. It's not been Disney-fied and I hope it never will be. Lovely places to eat. Hotel itself was great. Would go back... More

got a triple which you must book from the hotel website. we were the only guests in the garden.Park in the lot outside the Navaronne gate and walk with. Breakfast not worth it. Would not pay the full price but $160 for three people worth while.

The hotel is cosy and center of old city within the wall. Best place to be if you came to see Caracassone. Taxi drops you at entrance of castle and need to walk 5 min inside the old city. Limited access for vehicles. Staff very helpful. Won't recommend staying outside the wall. Enough restaurants in old city.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2015 via mobile

I had read of the crowds and hassle of staying within the old city walls but as I visited in February, the streets were peaceful and relaxing. The hotel itself is perfectly situated to see the walled city, when you step outside the door you are immediately in the midst of the narrow little streets. The hotel interior was lovely... More

We stayed here in August 2014 in a room across the way (not the main building that contains the lobby and front desk.) We had two rooms, one on a lower level and one up a staircase. Both rooms were more than comfortably sized, with air conditioning that worked very well. The hotel's location inside the old town was incredibly... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in early January so it was the off season and many shops were closed but not all. I really enjoyed my stay on all counts. We arrived by taxi from the rail station and took the hotel bus into the hotel area. Fantastic sight to see the medieval ramparts; we were assigned... More

Hotel was great and perfect! We were told that it was due to be a very quiet night but it seemed like everyone decided to book last minute so very short staffed, however that didn't change the service and the staff were very polite and couldn't do enough for you We had a great room with a small terrace which...
