I stayed in the Red Room: big comfy bed, great shower, coffee and tea making facilities, good lift up to the third floor from ground level - vital with heavy luggage. I got lost on my way from the station and was guided in; which was a great personal touch. The location is so good that you do not need... More

We've stayed here as a family twice and would recommend it heartily. Mme Chatignoux is friendly and welcoming: this is her home and part of the fun of staying here is the enjoyment of a Parisienne's hospitality. The location is fabulous - no, you can't see Notre Dame from the window, but it is very nearby, and from your room... More

We enjoyed our first visit but this time we received too much attention! We knew where and how to go. Much too much literature for tourists-with the risk of it being out of date-eg bus tour said 22 Euros but it's now 27! Somehow the place seemed rather 'stale', as well as the breakfast bread, of which there wasn't enough.... More

This is our 5th stay at Madame's, and what a perfect place to see Paris. from our first stay this epitomised what Paris is all about. Behind large blue doors, to the courtyard and the Paris way of life. Central to everything, Notre Dame, the Left Bank, walking distance to Louvre and most famous sights or Metro close. Madame goes... The Red Room is one floor up from the Blue Room, at 7 Rue Maître-Albert, with its own separate entrance on its floor, off the stairwell and small elevator. It is simple, clean, in a wonderful location with a gracious host. The location is unbeatable, close-by Maubert-Mutualité metro stop in the 5th, and a pleasant walk across the Seine to... More

Madame Chatignoux was quite simply, fantastic. A wonderful host, providing us with a magnificent base from which to explore Paris. We will make sure to return to the room behind the big blue doors in the Rue de Maitre Albert.

Opening the characterful old doors on the tiny side street, just opposite Notre Dame, to climbing the beautiful stairwell up to the apartment (small lift available) you could escape from the tourists and enter your own little space. Blue room was beautiful, quiet and relaxing with; nicely worn old tiles, high ceiling, shutters, old fireplace and a view over the... More

Our family of 4 recently stayed at Brigitte's B&B. I'm really surprised to read the negative reviews. She does, like many B&B owners opening up their homes, have her set of rules. But, for 140€ for all four of us including a (yes, simple but acceptable - and with real coffee, not instant) breakfast, to find a cosy, clean, comfortable... More

We are currently staying in The Blue Room at 7 Rue Maitre Albert, and it is absolutely perfect! The location is superb, within easy walking distance of the metro, RER and the BatoBus. Notre Dame is right at the end of the road (though you have to walk a couple of blocks to cross the bridge), the bed (down below... More

I've stayed here twice in 2009 and 2012, the reviews are mixed but do not reflect my experiences firstly as a single business traveller and more recently as a couple with my wife. I've been to Paris 12 times and stayed in hotels through to B+Bs. We know Paris so well it feels like a second home and this place... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
