This is a lovely hotel to have as a base in Paris. By L'Opera and within walking distance to The Louvre. The staff are all very polite and warm. The rooms are extremely clean and the beds very comfy. We also found the hotel to be very quiet. I would certainly recommend it and on my return to Paris it... More

Conveniently located, and very clean! Air condition works perfectly, house keeping did a great job everyday, showers are spacious, and the service was congenial. By Parisian standards, the space of the rooms are quite nice, and the beds were very comfortable.

I booked this hotel the night before my arrival and secured a great deal (also attributed to it being low season in early February). I was enticed by the location near Opera, price and prior reviews. The hotel over exceeded my expectations in terms of service, comfort and the quality of the hotel. I would definitely recommend others to stay... More

I booked the chess hotel as a surprise for my partners 30th Birthday. I contacted the hotel to make them aware I would be visiting for a special occasion and they happily upgraded our room, I was very happy with this as I was expecting maybe some chocolates or a bottle of bubbly in our room, loved that the staff... The chess hotel is located by far in one of the best locations in Paris. You are walking distance from the la fayette shopping centre and the metro station is also literally a 2 min walk making it easy to travel round Paris but also remembering how to get back to your hotel. The atmosphere in the hotel is pleasant.... More

An excellent property with super helpful staff, close to public transport, good restaurants and within walking distance from some tourist attractions and great shopping. A piece of advise to first-time visitors. Don't be put off by the (slightly narrow) entrance. Once you are in hotel lobby, you will be pleasantly surprised by the tastefully done up interiors and the helpful... More

just returned from a couple of days in Paris for my wife's 50th I booked this hotel on the back of good reviews on this site and we wasn't disappointed. We were greeted on arrival with a smile and shown to our room. The room was immaculate with a large comfortable bed, a nice bowl of fruit and the coffee... More

Owners of the hotel did not spare money when making the hotel. All the materials used are the highest grades, interior has very nice design. Location is excellent. As always in Paris rooms are not cheap and small, but this hotel at least is truly nice.

Enjoyed my first stay so much that I returned later in the week after a study programme at INSEAD in Fontainebleau. Super convenient location, in between 3 metro stops that each service different lines and movie theaters around the corner if you wish to catch a late night movie in English ... you possibly could. Nice lunch spot with healthy... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
