Tintin posters on the wall were the first thing I noticed as I entered the room. Nice touch. Not a huge room, but very clean and well maintained. Not much of a view out the windows as I was facing the back of the hotel... but then again that's not what I was in Paris for. Being in Montparnasse it... More

We stayed in Hotel de la Paix for 3 nights and found the hotel to be in a great location (one minute from Raspial metro) the rooms were small, which is to be expected in Paris, but decorated nicely and comfortable. The staff at the hotel were always polite and helpful. Breakfast was a little basic. It would have been... More

Great place to say in Paris. Very near the Raspil station which connects to various tourist attractions. Room is also nice and clean, good A/C and room is cleaned everyday. We stayed on the 5th floor, room 38 facing the street with sound proof window. WiFi is also excellent (free), strong enough to make WiFi calls. Quiet neighborhood with food... More

Montparnasse is a bit far from the center of Paris, but the hotel is 1/2 block from the metro stop so it's not too bad. Last time I stayed in the St Germain area, and preferred this. The staff was very helpful, and the room was adequate and clean.

This is a medium priced hotel in a quiet section of Paris but near everything and easy access to it all by foot or metro. The staff are very accommodating - I was ill for 3 of our 5 night stay - and room service was very good to us, running up and down the stairs with tea trays. They... More

Stayed for 2 nights with friends. The lobby is very cute and has some rather unique decorations. The front desk staff were incredibly useful and helped us with restaurant recommendations all weekend, check in was quick. The hotel is situated in a great part of town, you don't feel like you are over run with tourists and locals eat in... More

Lovely boutique style hotel that is located in a very nice, quiet neighbourhood. We were on the 5th floor looking out to the main street, no problems with noise though as the windows are double glazed I believe. The room itself was exceptionally clean and decorated tastefully with character - unlike one of those bland chain-hotels. I would have to... More

Just got back from Paris staying at the Hotel De LA Paix. Have stayed a few times in Paris and the hotels can be hit and miss regardless of cost or rating. However we Loved everything about this hotel - to start with the location was superb. We flew into CDG and got the train directly to a metro ten... More

We chose this hotel because we caught the Eurostar into Gard du Nord and were travelling to Bordeaux on the SNCF from Gard Montparnasse the following day. Both stations are served by Metro line 4 and the hotel is a two minute walk from Raspail station and also within walking distance of Gare Montparnasse. We liked the hotel with its... More

It is quite difficult to find a reasonably priced hotel in Paris. But this hotel is quite a gem. Helpful front desk. Clean room. Soft bed. They even allow you to leave your luggage. It is also located in my favorite area to stay in Paris which is a quiet residential area with local restaurants to eat in that do... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
