I tried to book a room for 2 nights on the hotel site, and since the site didn't allow me to complete the procedure, I wrote a mail asking for infos about the availability of rooms. 24 hrs later I still hadn't received any feedback, so I sent a kind reminder. 48 hrs later, and still NO ANSWER whatsoever, I... Hotel Tolbiac is one of the best hotels I have stayed in for value for money in Paris. It is bright, quaint and welcoming and the decor is lovely with real wooden floors throughout. The hotel is very clean, family run and well managed. The 13eme is one of Paris hidden gems with many Vietnamese neighbours and walkable to the... More

Great place in a great location, thanks! This place has underground stations nearby as well as a wide variety of eateries. The place ditalie is a great square, finally there is a great park around the corner to place table tennis etc.

i realize for this price it is difficult to get somtething decent in paris, but this hotel is really the pits, the rooms are small, the bathrooms ridiculously small, it is dirty, rundown, their breakfast is a joke, if you can fit the chairs and tables. no, i will never stay in this hotel again.

I stayed in April some days in Tolbiac and would not hesitate to choose it again. From my point of view the condition of the hotel and the rooms are very good, the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable and value is very good for the money. The location is suitable for touristic activities in Paris and the area is both... More

Wifi doesn't work, water in the shower is cold, only one key to the room though we were 2 and asked for an other key. Otherwise clean and ok (the cleaningladies were there every day). Good to have water tap in the room. As the water was cold in the shower we washed our hair in the sink!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rates are very reasonable when one realizes that one is in an expensive international city. I appreciated also the complimentary breakfast bar. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone who is seeking a place to stay while in Paris.

The staff at Hotel Tobiac was wonderfully helpful. The neighborhood feels safe, with lots of restaurants around, and within a few blocks of four different Metro lines. There is no elevator. The least expensive rooms have toilets and bathrooms down the hall, but there are enough that there was never a wait.

Our first trip to Paris and we could not ask for a better experience! The location is excellent with the Metro just a short walk away, cafes on every corner, fantastic bakery across the street and a great view from our windows. The Hotel is old but has character. Clean and only offers the essentials which is all you need... More

I liked the location of this hotel with cafés etc close by and the metro one block away. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift and the stairs were very difficult to walk up let alone carry a bag up. The walls were very thin also .

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighborhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
