Hotel Denfert Montparnasse is located on Rue Daguerre, one of the fabulous market streets in the 14th of Paris. The ladies who run the hotel have been very accommodating, even giving us some ice and letting us use the back garden with the children. They also made sure our room was clean right away. There are cafes, shops, groceries, boulangeries,... More

Rue Daguerre - a fabulous street - and this hotel is a few blocks from the fabulous restaurant strips of both Rue Daguerre and Montparnasse. Our room was high (4th or 5th floor from memory) - nice & quiet on a reasonably quiet street. The staff found a fan for us as well. Typical of a Paris hotel room -... More

Perfect budget hotel for an expensive city like Paris. A short distance to the Metro station, which also has a connection to CDG Airport - so no need for taxis anywhere. I used this hotel as a stopover from my trip to Bordeaux, and did a bit of Paris sightseeing on a budget. The room is OK, comfortable and clean,... More

Location is the best part. Rue Daguerre, where the hotel is located, is a pretty nice and lively street. It's got all kinds of restaurants, shops, super markets and stuff, with a Line 4 (the best metro line in my opinion) stop at one end, 3 minutes' walk from the hotel. The hotel staffs are friendly, I mean, compared to... More

This is a budget 2-star hotel close to the Denfert Rochereau station. I can say it is quite simple but safe. The room is small but includes a double bed and and bathroom with shower. The hotel offers free wifi and has an elevator. The staff is helpful and friendly. Good for a business or turistic trip on limited funds... More

the staff working at the hotel is quite gentle, and try to help the guests as much as they can. Only a few number of staff people can speak english, and it is desirable to have some knowledge in the french language. But the location of the hotel is its major point. The facilities are old and cleanliness could be... More

At first let me tell the last word: "yes! I will go there again.":) . I and my wife were there for 13 days in July 2013 and it was very good. Lots of good things and some small negative points. It is a 2 star hotel (it is not 3 star). A tiny clean room in a good condition... More

The staff is really helpful, although their English isn't super good you can undertand them. It is localed close to bars, restaurants and the subway is close too. The showers are super small and there is no a/c but you can get some fresh air by opening the window.

Only about 30 meters from where filmmaker Agnès Varda lived on this village-like street in the Montparnasse district of south Paris, this hotel is ideally situated for an excellent stay in the city. Less than five minutes on foot from the Metro, RER or SNCF Gare Montparnasse, there are also many superb restaurant choices in the area (lots of sushi,... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
