My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights. We always felt welcomed and cared for. Being new to Paris was a little daunting but the staff were very helful in arranging good restaurants and explained good and bad areas. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The areas is fantastic. Great restaurants within short walking distances and close... More

One look around our room and it was obviously not cleaned and poorly maintained. Do yourself a favor and go on air bnb if your price range is this low, it's hard to imagine this hotel earned its one star. The neighborhood might be trendy but my girlfriend and I felt unsafe at times, and were endlessly approached by aggressive... More

Hotel Angleterre is a budget hotel, so don't expect too much of it. It is located just off the main road and train line so it is close to good transportation but less noisy which helps. It's an up and jumping part of Paris, so you should not be staying indoor too long if you stay here, so it does... More

This very convenient and cheap hotel was entirely free of bed bugs and fairly clean. The staff were friendly and the location excellent for travelling around. It is 40 yards from Metro 4 which takes you to the Notre Dame and the Rue de Rivoli or to the Moulin Rouge in the other direction at Metro Blanche. It is a... More

The photos are not a reflection of this place. If it was clean but basic that would be fine at a certain price but this place isn't either. Pay a few quid more and get something proper 'cos this place is worse than a £20 b&b in Blackpool. Staff were polite and friendly but I cannot recommend the hotel -... More

This hotel was totally fine due to its low price. Very old and nothing modern but the room was always clean. Bad lightning in the bathroom though and very tiny towels to use after shower. Staff wasn't that enthusiastic about the guests but was nothing we had a problem with. Very close to the metro and nice restaurants just two-three... More

It is well situated near to Barbes Metro station so you can get anywhere from there. It is also close to the Sacre Coeur and the area if Pigalle- five minutes walk away. The room was basic and a little eccentric- my room had seven sides (walls) to it and the shower base was for some reason about 20cm off... More

By the time I arived in Paris around 12pm (noon), they rang me to say they couldn't find my reservation. By the time I arrived, the party I was meeting had been moved to another hotel, and reception said that EasyToBook.com had not informed them of the booking. The alternate hotel put us in a twin room, saying that is... More

You certainly get what you pay for with this hotel. Yes it's cheap and only one star but we expected certain standards. Firstly,I emailed the hotel 2 days before arrival to confirm my booking but I received no reply. When you check in you have to pay straight away for your stay, I see why now! If I had gone... More

You get the basics here: and fine beed and a hot shower. I recommend it if you need a low cost hotel in Montmartre. We stayed here for two knights, and even though the floors are squeeky, we slept well. The staff at the desk didn't speak much English, but that was not a big problem.

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
