Excellent position by Republique, but certainly bare-bones: no television for instance, but if you're like me and leave at 7am and come back at 11pm you won't have a problem. I found the showers rather odd: they said they needed a token for water but they seemed to work anyway. They lent me a travel plug adaptor when I'd forgotten... More

Ok, it is a cheap option in paris, but as somebody said below:`NO` cheap room is worth the loss of peace of mind!. Nothing reasonable about this hotel. Poor customer service, even they do not take the responsibility of their own website. Do not be shocked, if you go there and they say they are full, while you are handing... More

This is a great value for money hotel with helpful, eccentric staff and possibly one of the best locations in Paris. Not just in terms of its broad location on the edge of the Marais, not far from montmarte, a short walk through the marais to the left bank etc... but more importantly the local 'quartier'. Virtually no traffic noise... More

We stay at the Hotel Picard every summer and love its proximity to 'Le Marais': that sole surviving medieval quarter of Paris which you can easily walk to from this hotel. Summer in Paris is a great time to visit but it is prohibitively expensive (hotel charges are at their highest), and so staying in the fashionable Marais during this... More

My friend and I have just spent 4 nights in a twin room at Hotel Picard and thought the location was excellent, the service good and most of the staff were very helpful and cheerful. The room was good value for the price paid with comfortable beds, two delightful double windows with flower boxes over Rue de Picardie and lots... More

Do NOT under any circumstances stay at this hotel. Those who have written it's clean and "reasonable" must be mistaking this place for another. The accommodations (I use that word with tongue in cheek) are ridiculous. I understand and am ok with "bare bones" and a good price. I am NOT OK with dirty, dangerous and scary. I was afraid... House of Horrors Creepy, dirty, and unsafe are three words to best describe Hotel Picard. To say it is the worst hotel I've ever seen anywhere would be putting it mildly. The entire experience here has been a living nightmare. If zero stars were a choice I'd rate it negative zero. Stay away! Details: i booked this hotel during fashion... More

Staff was friendly and helpful and the price was good for Paris. Facility is very old and in need of an upgrade and rooms are tiny. The elevator is tiny and we still had to drag our suitcases down and up a few stairs to reach the room. There is a great deal of noise from nearby restaurants and bars... More

I was there for 2 days in the middle of May. Everything was really small. Firstly, it is not easy to find this hotel. The staircase and elevator are very small (width approx. for 1 person). Room is also small (except bed - it was the only normal size thing). But the size is not very important for me. However,... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
