The hotel is nice. Good location, good bed, clean room The WIFI was free but not very stable, sometimes failed. The breakfast was included but seems a bit simple for 4* Hotel, although the available food was very good and tasty.

As we entered the lobby we were greeted by solicitous staff and a gorgeous fragrance, much like entering a spa, and the art-filled lobby included a water feature which added to the tranquil effect. We called ahead to see if our room could be ready a little earlier than normal check in and gratefully was able to sleep off my... More

The staff here are very customer-oriented. I twice saw staff step off the elevator just to give guests a little more space in a not-too-crowded lift. The breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of hot and cold options including fresh fruit, eggs, meats and cheeses. The room was neat and clean and remarkably quiet. I would definitely book here... More

V stylish rooms and a good location but non-smoking rooms stink of smoke as there are in fact no non-smoking rooms. They offer them but admitted when I asked to move that anyone can smoke in any room. My room had an overpowering smell which ruined what would have been a lovely room.

I really enjoyed this hotel. It´s a great location: 25 minutes or so walking from Notre Dame, right by a metro, shops and restaurants. Very safe. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms are nice and the breakfast is delicious! I honestly can´t think of a negative thing to say about this place. I would definitely return!

Very good design, clean and modern rooms Quiet hotel in a quiet street very close to gare de Lyon Only rooms are very little (like most of the hotels in Paris) and one bad point is that they do not have fresh bread for breakfast (at least the one I had at 7:00 am): strange for a French hotel!

We were really satisfied with this hotel. Though, I think we got it for a really good deal compared to the normal rates, so this might affect to my review. We also got upgraded to Ecolo Privilege room which was located on the patio. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. We enjoyed big bath and large windows that provided... More

The location of the hotel is really good. Near St. Louis island, Place de la Bastille, Marais, Rue de Rivoli ... The hotel is good, the breakfast is ok, but needs a renovation. The wifi doesn't work at all. The staff needs training and be more competent.

We picked Hotel Marceau Bastille off the internet and the place exceeded our expectations. Small, boutique hotel, great neighborhood that gave equal access to Bastille, Marais, and Ile St Louis neighborhoods so lots of choices for dining, sight-seeing, and shopping. Major metro station (including access to very useful 1 line) within blocks. The hotel itself was very comfortable for us:... More

Situated halfway between Bastille and Gare de Lyon Metros and with Austerlitz and Quai de la Rapeé also nearby, the entire city is easily accessible. Also the city centre is within reasonable walking distance along the Seine [recommended]. As soon as we crossed the threshold of this hotel we recognised that we had picked a winner. We were welcomed at... More

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
