The location of the hotel is really good. Near St. Louis island, Place de la Bastille, Marais, Rue de Rivoli ... The hotel is good, the breakfast is ok, but needs a renovation. The wifi doesn't work at all. The staff needs training and be more competent.

We picked Hotel Marceau Bastille off the internet and the place exceeded our expectations. Small, boutique hotel, great neighborhood that gave equal access to Bastille, Marais, and Ile St Louis neighborhoods so lots of choices for dining, sight-seeing, and shopping. Major metro station (including access to very useful 1 line) within blocks. The hotel itself was very comfortable for us:... More

Situated halfway between Bastille and Gare de Lyon Metros and with Austerlitz and Quai de la Rapeé also nearby, the entire city is easily accessible. Also the city centre is within reasonable walking distance along the Seine [recommended]. As soon as we crossed the threshold of this hotel we recognised that we had picked a winner. We were welcomed at... More

The impression I got from the website was spot on when we arrived. This is a modest hotel in a quiet location, but it makes the best of it. The place is spotlessly clean, the staff are great and very professional. The breakfast is very good. Rooms are as other reviewers have said. Not so big, but really good bathrooms and... More

A bit of a late review, but a worthy one at that! I went to Paris for 3 nights with a friend in April 2014, for the Paris marathon. The hotel itself is in a good location - only a short walk from Bastille station where you are able to get the metro into Central Paris. We used the metro... More

Nice place, bright, clean and modern. Small rooms but we were upgraded as they took pity on me after having my wallet lifted before even getting here (see my Gare Du Nord comments if this is of concern) The staff were great, especially Jean-Charles, who we felt had genuine interest in us enjoying our time in Paris. Breakfast was fine,... More

This is a lovely little hotel in a perfect location. Less than 5 minutes walk from Bastille and just a little further from Le Marais. So a lot of restaurants and bars to chose from within walking distance! There are several Metro lines running from Bastille so it is very quick to get anywhere like Les Halles, Le Louvre, les... Wow what a hotel, had sent several days staying here before and was glad to have it included on this trip. This is one of those little gems one comes across so seldom. The staff here are one of the best I have come across in my travel's, they truly welcome you to the hotel. Location is central with easy... More

4.5* on Location: The hotel has a good location in Bastille, which is easily reached by anywhere in Paris- Bastile Metro and Gare de Lyon train station. 3.5* on Room: slightly dated, bathroom was missing long strips of grout between tile and door opened up against the toilet, making it very cramped. The room itself was just OK. 1* for... More

Very clean modern tasteful hotel, a 5 minute walk from Bastille Metro and less than 15 minute walk from the Airport bus at Gare de Lyon. On a slightly nondescript side street near a loading zone for a supermarket, so sometimes a lot of delivery trucks parked nearby, but not a big problem. Rooms small but very clean and modern.... Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
