Really basic hotel but in a very convenient area. Perfect for one or two nights but definitely not luxurious, however perfectly clean and safe. 2 minutes from metro station, but easy to walk to lots of different places of interest.

Not too hard to find from the metro station, but when I rounded the corner noticed something similar to a red light district. Rang the front bell, where I was buzzed in, and that's when the problems occurred, immediately noticed man didn't even bother to make hisself known, and the horrible dirty dingy carpeted stairs; walked up and immediately noticed... An affordable hotel which was at a location that is accessible to transport and not far from all the attractions. Booked through hotels.com with budget price and it was just a short distance walk from the Reaumur Sebastapol Metro station. But the neighborhood is populated by the most awful prostitutes that can be imaginedthe, amount of noise coming from the... More

Horrible hotel. Shower and toilet facilities more than substandard. Staff rude, noisey and unhelpful. They definitely would prefer to be somewhere else. Room was like a nineteenth century cell. The neighborhood is populated by the most awful prostitutes that can be imagined. Definitely the worst location I stayed in Europe. Spend more and stay elsewhere.

Took a chance to go to Paris with my sister who was graduating in UK. Looking for an affordable hotel which was at a location that is accessible to transport and not far from all the attractions. Appi hotel was what I've chose in relation to the criteria listed. Booked through booking.com with budget price and it was just a... More

We booked this 2 person room knowing not to expect much but we were still disappointed. There was no cold running water in the room and the hot water started running in the night and we could not turn it off. The electricity only worked if we found the perfect spot when we plugged something in. The toilet and the... More

This is possibly the trashiest place I have ever place foot into. Dirty hallway and room, broken furnitures and no amenities of any kind. Words cannot describe it. I was looking for a cheap alternative to a previous hotel stay in Paris. Except for the hotel location, this was a big mistake. If you are just looking for a very... More

The hotel is in rue st Denis .. so yes, the location is unbeatable, give that. That's all it is really! I had a room on floor 6 (the top floor) -- all stairs, nooo lift, oh yes, quite a challenge to get to the top! But I did manage .. Regarding the location, it is just in the heart... More

This budget hotel is well located just two blocks away from a subway station. The staff was friendly and the room was clean., now--The bed was hard and the walk up to the upper floor ( 8 floor building) a couple times a day kept my lugs and tongue in good shape. Poor ventilation, noisy street and paper thin walls... More

I stayed here for seven nights, and before I went I was a bit hesitant because of the previous reviews. So when i got there, I didnt know what to expect. But I was not disappointed. The room was cosy and clean, and the staff were very friendly! However, I do agree that its not a good idea to come... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
