This is the most terrible place you can stay at in Paris. Please please don't go here. I paid 50 euros for a 12' by 7' room that had a single bed, a wash basin (YES, THERE IS NO PRIVATE BATHROOMS OR TOILETS), a tiny tv in a top corner, a small lamp above the bed. THERE WASN'T EVEN A... More

A really disappointing stay and overpriced. A friend and I stayed for 3 nights, the first day the Wifi didnt work, the toilets were dirty and stunk, pee on the floor. The next few days they were at a better standard. The toilets are in the centre of the spiral staircase at each wall on each level, you have to... More

I have stayed at Hotel de la Vallée while visiting Paris two times. The location is the only good thing about it, expect for the cheap price. The rooms are small, the bathroom is in the stairway (shouldn't it rather be called a hostel when there are no bathrooms in the rooms?), and you have to pay to take a... More

my third stay at De La Vallee, as pleasant as before. at the heart of 75002, room overlooking rue st. denis, few steps away from les halles, short walk to montorgueil hipster district. they had added WiFi, which was a very very pleasant surprise. showers were now free, but they were showing their age already. still my #1 choice in... I have to say after reading reviews on this site, i was a little aprehensive about visiting this particular hotel however I think the majority of people writing reviews on here must have extremely high expectations!! I cannot comment on what others have paid however for the money this hotel certainly ticked all the boxes. we stayed for a total... More

This little hole in the wall is in the heart of Les Halles with its shops and restaurants; but buyer beware, tiny rooms in a walk-up, very Parisian but not for anyone with American hotel standards!!! And it is expensive but ok if you want to hit all the hot tourist spots and avoid traveling on the metro as much... More

I can't make a proper review of this hotel because I wasn't even able to arrive in Paris because of bad weather (the plane couldn't take off). It was not in my power to arrive magically in Paris on the day of the reservation. I have payed for the room in advance, of course because that is the policy of... More

I would be very hesitant to make a reservation at this hotel because they tell you that there are no cancellation fees and then you find out later that there actually are fees. The receptionist at the hotel became very defensive at his error and judging from his responses, I believe he has become this way because he receives alot... More

Located near strip clubs and houses of ill repute, This "hotel" has got to be the oldest, dirtiest, smelliest, and most ragged in all of Paris. The room is not worth one penny, let alone the rates they are charging. Sketchy location, dark stairwell, dirty shared toilet and shower (you must wait in line and pay to use it), no... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
