We have just returned from an enjoyable stay in this hotel. The hotel is in a lively and easily accessible area of Paris, extremely close to Notre Dame. The hotel is great base for a visit, and suited our needs as simply a place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable, although a little small- especially the bathroom! I... More

I've stayed in many hotels in Paris. At €100, this is the cheapest. Bang in the heart of the equivalent of London's Oxford Street (Rue de Rivoli) and a walk away from major attractions (Notre Dame, Rive Gauche, Louvre), the location is perfect and, unsurprisingly, a little noisy at night. Rooms are good and, of course, pretty small. And I... More

Grand Hotel du Loiret is probably the best choice you can make for a few days stay in Paris! But let’s start from the beginning… If you are arriving at CDG airport (terminal 1 or 2) you can take the RER B train to Chatelet Les Halles (leaves at every 15 minutes; cost 9.75 euro; takes around 30 minutes to... We were a little nervous about this hotel as it was cheap - 100 euros a night, and right in the city center, so we expected little for the cheap price. We followed the room tips on here and asked for a room on a higher floor. The first thing my husband said when we walked into our room was... More

Great location in the Marais district, close to subway and to the Seine river. Walking distance from Louvre, Notre Dame etc...Nice small hotel, clean rooms, functional bathrooms. No luxury but a fair rate. You don not need more to have a good night sleep. Only minus: breakfast not included (nine euros) and Wi-Fi did not work during my week end... More

Small hotel but with nice and fresh rooms. Friendly and very helpful staff. We had two rooms for two nights, one with three beds and one doubleroom. The doubleroom was on the top floor with a magnificent view of Paris, the roof-windows made it airy and spacious. Bathroom small but clean and fresh. The area is very nice, walking distance... More

On the day we arrived there was a very rude man on reception and we were initially not impressed by the size of the room. After this initial experience though, we enjoyed our stay. All other staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. The room was sufficient and comfortable though the shower was not great. The... More

I stayed here in 2012 so when I needed a base for 6 nights this year, I hoped they had a room. I was on the 6th floor with a great view of Notre Dame and the Pompidou. Rooms are stylish and comfortable having been updated since I was there last. Staff are friendly. But it's the position that really... More

Great little Marais neighborhood hotel. We had a traditionally small Paris room though it was reasonably priced for this area. Not chic mind you, but a clean spartan ideally located location just off the busy Rue de Rivoli at the north side of the Seine, across from the Île de la Cité island where Notre Dame and St Chapelle are... Fantastic boutique hotel right in the heart of the 4th. Walking distance to everything! The hotel was very accommodating to my husband and I and responsive to emails regarding our booking. Hotel rooms were relatively small, but we're from NYC so they seemed fine to us. The bathrooms were newly renovated and there was a safe. Upon checking out, the... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighorhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
