I am a frequent traveler and I usually stay at the best hotels in the locations I visit. For this trip, however, I decided to find a low budget alternative. I am extremely pleased with my decision! I had a room on the 4th floor over looking the street (Room 41). The room was bigger than expected. Had a small... more

I stayed on the 2nd floor, and alas, I didn't inquire, there was no elevator. After navigating the metro from Gare de L'Est with luggage and a short walk, this was NOT a happy surprise. The staff is lovely, decor quirky, plumbing fine. I won't stay here again because there's no elevator. It is on the Rue St Paul, among... more

This is one of those nice finds in Paris. It´s all rather small and a bit dingy. Then what´s not small and a bit dingy in Paris? The movie theme gave it some charm. (The walls of hallways and rooms are decorated with cinema posters) For someone in Paris to enjoy the city, staying out all day and into the... more

This hotel is an absolute steal at the price, we stayed in room 41 (great beams) and apart from the slight cheating on the double bed, i.e. two singles pushed together, it was very respectable indeed. The hotel and the room had both charm and character, and unless you are stuck up your own arse you will greatly appreciate this... more

My Mum and I stayed here for 5 nights and thought it was totally charming. We had a view over Rue St Paul, one of the oldest streets in Le Marais. Rooms are quite small but bathroom was excellent as was breakfast which is good value. The people who run the hotel and their staff were amazing, when the washing... more

Stayed there 2 times, 2001 and 2003, fun place, funky, rooms are tight but clean and the staff was excellent, since your never in your room much in paris, the rates are great and we had lots of laughs, the stairway is a bit crooked but thats what makes this place so special and up the street at Rue St... more

I picked this hotel b/c it was recommended by Rick Steves. The location is great and it's affordable, but that's all I liked. It's in the Marias neighborhood, and I really enjoyed the neighborhood itself. But I won't stay at this hotel again. I stayed in room 24 for one night and then moved to a bigger room, 37. The... more

we stayed at the hotel du septieme art for 3 days upon arrival in paris. The location is excellent, not far from the Bastille and a short walk to Notre Dame, close to 2 major tube stops (subway). Our room was small and not fancy, but the place was clean and we had our own bath with plenty of hot... more

I can't believe I'm the first to review this hotel. The Septieme Art (the seventh art) is an absolute find. It's in a terrific location, about 5 minutes walk to St Paul metro and 5 minutes to the Bastille. Being in the Marais district it's also surrounded by excellent shops and restaurants and the Seine is at the end of... more
