We only stopped in Paris for a few days and had all the sites to visit. So naturally we needed something close enough where everything was accessible but far away enough to keep the cost at a reasonable rate. The Location- This hotel was a good choice, about 15 minutes by train from central Paris and about 10 minute walk... More

Genarally, going to 1star hotel you have no extra estimations... Big advantage is private bathroom even the size is like in submarine :)) Of course the room is also small but properly furnished and well heated (!), cleaned regularly. I should say that for the purpose of our trip this hotel was quite sufficient, we spent all the days in... More

We was sleeping in a double room. The toilet was wery small but we were having shower together :) It was a little funny and not so easy, but still possible. The bed was very comfortable but there was no quilt, only a blanket. Room was cleaning every day. I do not recommend to walking in the neighbourhood after 10PM,... More

I stayed here for a night while visiting Paris. It is quite close to the metro (10mins). A suburban looking neighborhood by day, though I wouldn't recommend it after 9-10pm for girls travelling alone. We were kind of accosted by a random group of guys, but managed to placate them and get away, since I guess they were pretty harmless... More

Recently stayed here for 5 nights and its in walking distance about less than 5 minutes from the Jourdain Metro. You can take the Jourdain to Chatlet in about a 10 Minute train ride. From Chatlet you are basically in the centre of Paris. Again, this is a 1 star, so don't expect anything fancy or luxurious. Very small bathroom... More

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighborhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
