Stayed there November 10-19, 2014. We had Room 125 which was on the east side of the courtyard; this building has only two floors (the west side had about six floors). The room was a decent size, separate toilet from the bathroom. Requested a room with a refrigerator and this made all the difference. We were able to keep cold... More

Hotel has a relatively quiet location close to the bussy area near Montparnasse. That is the good point. Alas the only one. For the rest... Rooms needed a refurbishment many years ago. Lots of squeaky floor tiles, doors, windows, and the card reader on the door did not work very reliably. Bathtub was rusty. Hairs of the previous guest on... More

Start with positive side. Location is good, 2 minutes walk from the metro station Vavin. Room I stay in is clean, it would be better if it has a mini bar and/or tea and coffee make facilities. En suit has a bath tub over shower. As there is a gap between glass panel and top of tub, after shampooing with... More

I looked at many reviews of different hotels before plumping for the Villa Modigliani. Having only 4 days in Paris, I wanted to find somewhere in a good location, that was good value for money, comfortable and quiet. The Villa Modigliani fitted the bill well. I never give a full 5 stars for a review, the main reason being, that... More

I've been on many visits to Paris and stayed in the Montparnasse area. I've also walked the Rue Delambra many times, but for some reason never noticed this hotel. It is essentially an oasis in this neighborhood, with "garden" outside the hotel, and very quiet location. The rooms were quite large for being a Paris hotel, and it even had... More

I am of two minds about this hotel, which is why it has taken me some time to write this review. On the positive side, the location is great! On a beautiful, quaint little street in Montparnasse with good restaurants, a great cheese shop, wine shop, and a wonderful little shoe shop. Really, what more could anyone want. The hotel... More

I have stayed two times at Villa and will return next year again. Very close to Vavin metro station and to Port Royal train station (drives you direct to Charles de Gaulle airport). Very good restaurants in the neighborhood, nice staff, excelent rooms (I booked a triple and very spacious room for Paris), amazing breakfast (cold and hot dishes). Definitively... More

This is a decent option in Montparnasse for the price. A couple of things to point out: the wifi is very spotty and slow, and the bathtub is one of those only half covered by a glass so you get water all over the bathroom floor when you shower. But they do offer a good breakfast even if they make... More

Stayed here for a few nights and all we really needed was a place to put our heads down. This was clean, tidy and had good transport links with the metro. I would definitely recommend using the metro from the airport to Port Royal for anyone staying here. Cheap, cheerful and minimal fuss. Overall, although we didn't end much time... More

The scene: I enter the breakfast room, not too busy as it was 9.30 already. One of the ladies from the hotel staff was cleaning the tables and completely ignores my arrival. I chose a table and was having my breakfast when I decided to approach the 'table cleaner' to let her know which was my room number, as otherwise... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
