Hotel des Archives is a great place to stay in Paris. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bed is fantastic so guaranteed a good night sleep after exploring the city. The Wi-Fi is good quality. We really liked the breakfast: it's a small buffet but it has everything we needed. The only disadvantage is that you need to... More

Let me start by saying that I basically grew up in hotels, I even earned an undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management so I can confidently speak about the practices of hotels. Like many travelers I book hotel sometimes based on what I consider to be accurate and honest representation of a property. On a recent trip to Paris I chose... More

Nice hotel in terms of decoration, location, neighbourgood, yet... A hotel is a place where you want to sleep. Hotel staff should sleep in their own beds, then they would realize that sleeping on plastic mattress covers is horrible. Hot, sweathy, .... I did not sleep much. A pity, as other than that, the hotel was quite OK

This hotel in the Marais district is at the end of the Rue des Archives, close to a beautiful little square and to bars, restaurants and small shops. My room was small but clean with a large bathroom with shower. Bed comfortable. A little bit of noise from traffic and from the bars but not a bother really.

Room a little bit small but in paris you should be prepared for that. Clean rooms. Nice staff, very helpful. Perfect location in old town. Very close to good restaurants and 8 min walk to metro. Didnot take breakfast. You should try near food markets for real taste.

The location was good: not far from downtown, metro station is 10 minutes walk. But it's very noisy outside because the cafe right under the windows works from early in the morning till late at night. We stayed in Exclusive Double Room 406. The bathroom is normal. The room itself is as tiny as everything in the hotel: lobby, corridors,... More

We normally stay on the Left Bank so staying in the Marais district of Paris was new to us. The hotel itself was....fine. The room was a perfectly good size and the bathroom wasn't bad at all - the shower worked very well. We had asked for a quiet room but were given one overlooking the main road. They said... More

The location in the interesting Marais district is perfect. Many cafés and small shops in the neighbourhood and an easy walk to many sights and the metro. There was also a laundromat nearby. Both the bedroom and bathroom were a good size and very clean and it was nice to be able to open the windows. Very quiet with windows... More

tl;dr: Airconditioning was broken for two nights, hotel didn't do anything, made us pack and unpack twice to get us to move to a smaller and cheaper room. Their response to our complaint was, "Boh, what do you want me to do about it." Came in the first night airconditioning was broken and there was a puddle outside of the... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
