I moved here for my last night in Paris, on a budget. Positive: good location, close to Bastille, metro, Gare Lyon, and the turn of the Seine north. Quiet street. The staff in the morning was helpful and held my luggage until I returned before dinner. Negative: When I went to my room (on the tiny cramped elevator...charming if two... More

We had a wonderful experience here. My wife and I stayed for three nights and couldn't have been happier. It is reasonably priced (for Paris) close to the Metro and just a 10 minutes walk to Notre Dame. The room was clean and the staff so very friendly. Everyone spoke English with no qualms or hesitance. They freely dispensed advice... More

Close to lot of eateries and restaurants Clean: the staff cleans the room everyday Comfotable bed Negatives: Tiny room but not a surprise when you are in Paris

Hotel location was fine, 5-7 mins walk from Bastille metro, approx 20-25 mins walk to Latin Quarter 5arr. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. Washroom & bedroom were reasonably clean & spacious. There were no towel racks; shower was fine. Bed was reasonably good; we had great sleep! Free wifi & safebox were available in the room; wifi signal... More

Stayed in Sept. 2014. Super clean hotel, very close to Gare de Lyon and only a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame. The staff was helpful and friendly and spoke more than enough English to facilitate communication. I arrived early in the a.m. and stored luggage while I wandered the city before check in. The hotel is on a quiet... More

The hotel location is perfect for exploring Paris. Notre Dame de Paris is within walkig distance from the hotel. There are two underground stations in 5 minute walking distance and also a train station where you can catch the train to Versailles. There are couple supermarkets near the hotel. The area around the hotel is nice. The room was clean and... More

This choice worked well for us, it is not located right in the thick of the tourist spots but is very close to two metro stations which made getting anywhere extremely easy. Being close to Gare de Lyon and being near Bastille meant plenty of places to eat! Service was excellent and friendly. We dont speak more than a few... More

This is a very good base from which to explore Paris on foot. It is ten minutes walk into the heart of Isle St Louis, Isle de la Cite, Notre Dame, etc. If you book simply for a room it is a pleasure to eat breakfast in one of the local cafes, such as Les Artisans. Restaurants in Paris are... More

We chose this hotel because it had received good reviews on Trip Advisor, and because of its internet special price. We were not disappointed. As others have written the location was supberb--quiet, but near metro, train stations, and many restaurants. All the front desk staff were friendly and courteous, and our room was clean. I would have given a higher... More

Just returned from 10 days stay in Paris in this wonderful hotel! This hotel is ideally situated, it’s listed in 12th arrondissement (and thus cheaper) but central 4th and 5th are only few steps away. Bastille metro station (junction of three lines) is also 200 meters away. Though hotel itself is on the quiet street, busy Bastille plaza with many... More

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
